Stock indices in England, France, and Germany have made new all-time highs in 2025, outpacing the modest gains from US stocks. The Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF is up more than 8% over the last three months, while the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF has traded flat.
Here&#8217;s how to get in on this rally.

The Stoxx 600 index, which covers markets across the bloc, made several new all-time highs in February, led by a surge from the defense sector. Is this finally the year that European stocks beat their American counterparts? With the United States threatening to pull back from Europe, these tailwinds may have more room to run, especially if the EU follows through on defense spending expansion.
Today we'll look at six European stocks that could continue outperforming in 2025. Some of these companies are available to US investors through American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) or on over-the-counter (OTC) exchanges, so be sure to understand how these assets and markets function before putting any capital to work.

Danish healthcare giant Novo Nordisk is responsible for Wegovy and Ozempic, two of the prescription GLP-1 medications taking the world by storm. Both are different forms of semaglutide, as Wegovy is FDA-approved for weight loss while Ozempic is only approved for Type 2 diabetes. Demand for these drugs has been so strong that shortages have been common, but the FDA recently announced that Wegovy and Ozempic are no longer on their shortage list.

Novo Nordisk suffered a lost year in 2024 during the shortage, losing ground to Eli Lilly's Mounjaro and Zepbound. However, the company is still the top player in the GLP-1 space and posted solid revenue (8.1%) and earnings (9.6%) growth in the most recent report for Q4 2024.
The company's margins are also the envy of European drug makers: 34.8% gross, far outpacing EU competitors AstraZeneca (13%) and Roche (17.5%). NVO also sits on a formidable $9.8 billion cash pile. NVO shares have been choppy since the start of 2025, but the company issued strong guidance and is well-positioned to rebound after a rough 2024.

Unilever is a global consumer and household products company that markets itself under popular brands such as Ben and Jerry's, Axe, Dove, Breyers, Vaseline, and many more. The firm has offices in over 80 countries, but its headquarters has been in London for more than 100 years.

Uncertainty is beginning to weigh on investors as US consumer discretionary stocks have been tumbling for most of February while consumer staples surge higher. There's some evidence that businesses and consumers have been pulling forward demand on tariff threats, which could further boost the staples sector if big-ticket items have been already purchased and consumers focus on necessities over luxuries.
UL has a strong cash position and healthy margins to take advantage of this trend; it's also cheaper in terms of forward price-to-earnings and price-to-sales rates than American counterparts like Proctor and Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, and Colgate-Palmolive.

Airbus is under the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. (EADS) umbrella and has a market cap of $139 billion, nearly $33 billion more than its closest competitor, Safran SA. Airbus has a cheaper valuation than Safran or Rheinmetall and a healthier free cash flow pile ($3.9 billion). Airbus might not be lagging in the European defense sector for much longer.

BNP Paribas is a French bank and component of the CAC40, the country&#8217;s primary stock index. With a market value of over $80 billion, it is double the size of other European banking competitors like Societe Generale and Deutsche Bank.

BNP Paribas is attractive for several reasons, none more so than the 7.03 forward P/E ratio and 1.22 P/S ratio. Many European banks have extremely affordable valuations, but BNP offers the security of a large-cap with the upside of a smaller company. Plus, the 5% dividend yield is a nice bonus for investors.

Hermes has a pricey valuation compared to European competitors like Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Burberry, but the free cash pile is large ($5.38 billion) and the 30% profit margin dwarfs them all. The stock is up more than 38% in the last three months alone, but the fundamentals are strong, and the stock is comfortably above its 50-day and 200-day moving averages with a Relative Strength Index (RSI) reading of 55.

ABB Ltd. is a multinational robotics and automation solutions company incorporated in Switzerland and Sweden. The stock has a market cap of just under $102 billion and pays a 1.7% dividend yield.

On Tuesday, consumer packaged goods major Unilever plc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UL#NYSE">UL</a>) announced a leadership change. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.unilever.com/news/press-and-media/press-releases/2025/unilever-board-update-25-02-25/" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hein Schumacher</a><a target="_blank" href="https://www.unilever.com/news/press-and-media/press-releases/2025/unilever-board-update-25-02-25/" rel="noreferrer noopener"> will step down</a> from his position as CEO and Board Director by mutual agreement on 1 March 2025.
Schumacher will officially leave the company on 31 May 2025. Beginning 1 March 2025, Fernando Fernandez, who currently serves as Unilever's Chief Financial Officer, will assume the CEO role.
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Hein for resetting Unilever's strategy, for the focus and discipline he has brought to the company and for the solid financial progress delivered during 2024. Hein introduced and led a significant productivity programme and the commencement of the Ice Cream separation, both of which are fully on track," said Chairman Ian Meakins.
Unilever is in the process of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/02/43694382/consumer-giant-unilever-warns-on-slower-start-to-2025-ice-cream-spin-off-moves-forward-with-amsterdam-incorporation" rel="noreferrer noopener">separating its Ice Cream division </a>through a demerger and list on the Amsterdam, London, and New York stock exchanges, matching the current markets where Unilever shares are traded.
Fernandez has built a notable career at Unilever, having previously held the position of President of Beauty &amp; Wellbeing, one of the company's fastest-growing divisions.

As part of the leadership change, Unilever will initiate a search for a permanent CFO. In the interim, Srinivas Phatak, who is currently Unilever's Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Group Controller, will assume the role of acting CFO starting 1 March 2025.
The company confirmed that despite the leadership shake-up, Unilever's financial outlook for 2025 and medium-term guidance will not be altered.
Both Schumacher and Fernandez will continue to receive fixed pay, with Schumacher's pay being in place until his departure in May 2025, as per the company's remuneration policy.
Price Action: At the last check on Tuesday, UL shares were trading lower by 0.75% to $55.90.

Unilever today announced that Hein Schumacher is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and as a Board Director on 1 March 2025 by mutual agreement, and will leave the company on 31 May 2025.
Fernando Fernandez, currently Unilever Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, will be appointed Chief Executive Officer effective from 1 March 2025. Prior to becoming CFO in January 2024, Fernando had a successful tenure as President of Beauty &amp; Wellbeing, one of Unilever's fastest growing businesses. In previous roles as President Latin America, CEO Brazil and CEO Philippines he led some of the company's best performing markets, delivering strong financial results while developing exceptional talent. A thorough internal and external search process is being initiated to appoint a permanent CFO. From 1 March 2025, Srinivas Phatak, currently Unilever's Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Group Controller, will become acting CFO. Srinivas has served in global and local senior finance, strategy and supply chain roles including a successful term as CFO of Hindustan Unilever Limited. Srinivas' leadership qualities and his broad experience will enable him to partner Fernando in successfully executing Unilever's strategy.

Unilever shares are trading lower after the company released its 2024 sales and volume growth numbers and announced the demerger with its ice cream business is on track.

Shares of consumer goods major Unilever PLC (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UL#NYSE">UL</a>) are trading <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/premarket" rel="noreferrer noopener">lower in premarket</a> on Thursday.
The company announced that it is making solid progress toward <a target="_blank" href="https://www.unilever.com/news/press-and-media/press-releases/2025/improved-performance-led-by-volume-growth-and-gross-margin-expansion/" rel="noreferrer noopener">separating </a>its Ice Cream division, with plans to finish the process by the close of 2025.
Significant steps have been taken in critical areas, such as forming legal entities, creating an independent operating structure, and finalizing the required financial separation documents.
Last year, Unilever said it planned to spin off its Ice Cream division and concentrate on a portfolio of brands that are well-positioned in desirable markets with <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/03/37815586/chilling-changes-unilever-to-separate-iconic-ice-cream-brands-in-strategic-shake-up" rel="noreferrer noopener">complementary business models</a>.
The Ice Cream unit includes notable global ice cream brands, such as Wall&#8217;s, Magnum, and Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s.
Jean-Francois van Boxmeer has been named Chair Designate for the newly independent Ice Cream business. With extensive experience in the consumer goods industry, van Boxmeer is currently the Chair of Vodafone Group Plc and a non-executive director at Heineken Holding N.V.
The Ice Cream unit will be separated through a demerger and listed on the Amsterdam, London, and New York stock exchanges, matching the current markets where Unilever shares are traded.
The Ice Cream business will be incorporated in the Netherlands, and its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/03/37916172/unilevers-ice-cream-unit-may-find-home-in-amsterdam-over-london-report">headquarters will be maintained in Amsterdam.</a>

The decision comes after a thorough evaluation by Unilever&#8217;s Board of Directors, aimed at maximizing returns for shareholders while positioning the Ice Cream business for future success.
For the fiscal year 2024, Unilever reported a 4.2% increase in underlying sales, driven by a 2.9% growth in volume.
&nbsp;Turnover&nbsp;rose by 1.9% to 60.8 billion euros ($63.16 billion), with a negative impact of -0.7% from currency fluctuations and -1.5% from net divestments.
Power Brands, which account for over 75% of turnover, led the growth with a 5.3% underlying sales growth and a 3.8% increase in volume.
Brand and marketing investment rose by 120 basis points to 15.5%, marking the highest level in more than a decade.
The underlying operating margin grew by 170 basis points to 18.4%, while the gross margin expanded by 280 basis points.
Underlying earnings per share rose by 14.7%, though diluted EPS fell 10.6% due to losses from disposals and increased spending on productivity initiatives.
The quarterly dividend was increased by 6.1% compared to fourth-quarter FY23, and a new 1.5 billion euros share buyback program was announced.
Outlook: Unilever expects a slower start to 2025 with subdued growth in the short term, but both market conditions and growth are expected to improve as the year progresses, driven by price hikes reflecting higher commodity costs in 2025.
The company forecasts underlying sales growth for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance">2025 of 3% &#8211; 5%.</a>

U.S. stock futures were mixed this morning, with the Nasdaq futures gaining around 0.1% on Thursday.
Shares of The Trade Desk, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TTD#NASDAQ">TTD</a>) fell sharply in today's pre-market trading after the company reported <a href="https://in.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/02/43675459/the-trade-desk-stock-drops-after-q4-revenues-miss-estimates-details">worse-than-expected quarterly revenue results.</a>
Trade Desk reported quarterly earnings of 59 cents per share, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 56 cents. Quarterly revenue came in at $741.01 million, which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $758.93 million.
Trade Desk shares tumbled 27% to $89.34 in the pre-market trading session.

<li>Atai Life Sciences N.V. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ATAI#NASDAQ">ATAI</a>) fell 14.5% to $2.1800 in pre-market trading after the company announced the pricing of public offering of common shares.</li>
<li>Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RDDT#NYSE">RDDT</a>) fell 14.1% to $185.94 in pre-market trading after the company reported fourth-quarter results.</li>

Super Bowl LIX aired on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025 and the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, ending the Chiefs' attempt to be the first three-peat <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports/25/02/43583513/eagles-fly-over-chiefs-40-22-as-super-bowl-lix-tests-potential-137-million-viewership-for-fox">Super Bowl winners.</a>
The game also featured dozens of commercials advertising products and showcasing new movies and television shows. They also featured many celebrity cameos.
What Happened: Super Bowl LIX commercials were <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports/25/02/43560232/super-bowl-lix-commercials-ai-celebs-muppets-warren-buffett-linked-brand-take-the-spotlight">priced between $7 million and $8 million</a> for a 30-second slot by Fox Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FOX#NASDAQ">FOX</a>)(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FOXA#NASDAQ">FOXA</a>), which had the media rights to the game.
Fox was able to secure $8 million or more for some last-second advertising inventory ahead of Sunday's game.

Super Bowl Commercials 2025: Complete List of Super Bowl LIX Ads And Companies Behind Them

Along with watching the NFL championship matchup of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles and a halftime show from Kendrick Lamar, viewers will get to watch lots of high-priced<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/super-bowl"> Super Bowl commercials.</a>
A new Benzinga poll asked if the high cost of these ads was worth it.
What Happened: NFL media partner Fox Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FOX#NASDAQ">FOX</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FOXA#NASDAQ">FOXA</a>)<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports/25/01/43324031/super-bowl-lix-commercials-hit-record-8-million-how-fox-corporation-can-win-from-nfl-championship"> will air Super Bowl LIX </a>and the commercials that go along with it.
While Fox will use a portion of its inventory space to promote its own shows and Tubi streaming platform, the company will also sell its ad space with an estimated cost of $7 million to $8 million per 30-second slot.
Fox was even able to get $8 million or more from some last-minute ad slots.
"Super Bowl LIX commercials cost around $7 million each. Do you think this is a smart marketing investment?" Benzinga recently asked.
The results were:

<li>No: 61%</li>
</ul>
The majority of voters in the poll said they didn&#8217;t think the $7 million cost for a Super Bowl commercial is worth it. This could be bad news for the companies shelling out millions for their first Super Bowl ads Sunday.
Another Benzinga poll asked about the impact of seeing Super Bowl commercials last year.
"Did you look up any brands or advertisers after watching last year's Super Bowl ads?" 
The results were:

The poll found that 18% of people looked up a company or brand after seeing a Super Bowl commercial for it.

Why It's Important: Last year's Super Bowl<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/space/24/02/37109382/super-bowl-lviii-sets-modern-day-viewership-record-how-did-nfl-championship-compare-to-apollo-11-mo"> set a record </a>with an average of 123 million viewers, with 202.4 million people watching at least a portion of the game.
This year's Super Bowl could set records once again or continue the trend of having an average viewership of over 100 million people and setting new streaming records.
During the 2024 NFL season, the Chiefs were the most-watched team, helping several media companies set records for viewership.
While the cost is high at $7 million, there are not many events that get this kind of television audience and a Super Bowl commercial can mean big things for companies of all sizes.

Fox is presumably hoping that, along with record viewership, people will be talking about its advertisements and Tubi streaming platform that will have prominent billing during the ad spaces.

The Kansas City Chiefs are attempting to win a third straight Super Bowl on Sunday with a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. While millions of NFL fans will tune in for the big game, millions will also tune in to see the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/super-bowl">Super Bowl commercials.</a>
What Happened: NFL media partner Fox Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FOX#NASDAQ">FOX</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FOXA#NASDAQ">FOXA</a>) has the rights to Super Bowl LIX and set its sights on charging $7 million for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports/25/01/43324031/super-bowl-lix-commercials-hit-record-8-million-how-fox-corporation-can-win-from-nfl-championship">30-second commercial slots.</a>
The media company was able to secure the majority of its ad slots in the $7 million to $7.5 million range and some last-minute availability came with a price tag of $8 million. Fox also saw strong demand and price increases compared to last year for the pre-game and post-game slots.
While some companies are skeptical to advertise during the Super Bowl due to the high cost, last year's record viewership could lure major brands back, as the game remains one of the most-watched events in the U.S. annually.
