Shares of apparel companies are trading higher, possibly amid overall market strength after President Trump delayed 50% EU tariffs to July.

Shares of Ralph Lauren Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RL#NYSE">RL</a>) came under pressure, despite the company Thursday reporting <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45591404/ralph-lauren-analysts-boost-their-forecasts-after-upbeat-q4-results">upbeat fiscal fourth-quarter results</a>.
The announcement came amid an <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings">exciting earnings season</a>. Here are some key analyst takeaways.
JPMorgan On Ralph Lauren
<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/586bcbd9351b9b0001ab738c/matthew-boss">Analyst Matthew Boss</a> reiterated an Overweight rating, while raising the price target from $342 to $355.
Ralph Lauren reported quarterly earnings of $2.27 per share, beating Street expectations of $2.00 per share, driven by 10.4% revenue growth in constant currency terms, which came in higher than management's 6%-7% guidance, Boss said in a note. The company's adjusted gross margins expanded by 210 basis points (bps) to 68.7%, he added.
Management indicated that there has not been "any slowdown in any region globally to date through May," without even a single cancelation from any wholesale partner, the analyst stated. The company's preliminary fiscal 2026 guidance "embeds a 100bp+ headwind from tariffs by our math," he further wrote.

Goldman Sachs On Ralph Lauren
<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/60eef53155f722000105d101/brooke-roach">Analyst Brooke Roach</a> maintained a Buy rating, while lifting the price target from $262 to $324.
Ralph Lauren delivered a "broad-based" beat in the quarter on the back of "continued brand momentum, product execution, and margin delivery," Roach said. The results were healthy, especially given elevated expectations, he added.
Management's fiscal 2026 outlook calls for low-single-digit ex-FX growth, with first-quarter guidance ahead of expectations and some operating margin expansion, the analyst stated. "Within this, the company is taking a more cautious view on 2H amidst macro uncertainty and potential tariff-related pressures, particularly in North America," he further wrote.
Telsey Advisory Group On Ralph Lauren
<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/5888c53977f9dd0001877a22/dana-telsey">Analyst Dana Telsey</a> reaffirmed an Outperform rating and price target of $315.
Ralph Lauren's earnings beat was driven by strong sales and gross margins, Telsey said. The company generated comps growth and operating margin expansion across all three regions, she added.
Management's first-quarter revenue guidance came in ahead of current expectations, despite macro uncertainty, the analyst stated. "We continue to believe that RL has the right strategies in place to deliver topline growth off a stronger foundation with gross margin leverage and expanding operating margins while continuing to invest in the long-term health of the business," she further wrote.
RL Price Action: Shares of Ralph Lauren had declined by 1.19% to $274.12 at the time of publication on Friday.

Ralph Lauren Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RL#NYSE">RL</a>) reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/RL/earnings">financial results on Thursday</a>.
The luxury fashion company reported sales growth of 8% year-on-year (Y/Y) to $1.70 billion, beating the analyst consensus estimate of $1.64 billion. Adjusted EPS of $2.27 beat the consensus estimate of $2.00.
Patrice Louvet, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "As we enter Fiscal 2026, we remain on offense — with a focus on driving our multiple engines of growth across lifestyle categories, geographies, and channels. At the same time, we will stay agile and prudent — leaning into our diversified supply chain, operating discipline, and strong balance sheet as we manage through ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty."
On a constant currency basis, the company projects revenue growth of around single digits for the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
For FY26, Ralph Lauren anticipates revenue growth in the low-single digits compared to the previous year on a constant currency basis, with most of this growth expected to occur in the first half of the fiscal year.
Ralph Lauren shares fell 1.4% to $273.58 on Friday.

President Donald Trump's "one big beautiful tax bill" narrowly passed the House in a 215-214 vote and now moves to the Senate. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the proposed legislation is projected to add approximately $3 trillion to the national deficit over the next decade.
U.S. Treasury yields saw a whipsaw session, with the 30-year bond yield initially spiking to 5.15% before retreating by 9 basis points to 5.06% by midday in New York. The reversal in long-term rates signaled renewed investor appetite for long-duration bonds amid attractive yields.
Wednesday's sharp rise in yields had triggered a broad afternoon selloff in equities, but Thursday's pullback eased pressure on risk assets and improved investor sentiment.
The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.3% to 5,860 on Thursday, slightly recouping losses from the previous session. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 outperformed with a 0.7% gain.
Technology and consumer discretionary stocks led gains, riding momentum from falling yields. In contrast, defensive sectors like utilities and healthcare lagged. 
The U.S. dollar index (DXY) is on track to snap a three-day losing streak, supported by stronger-than-expected Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data for May. While the surveys pointed to solid growth, they also revealed renewed inflationary pressures, which tempered hopes for near-term Federal Reserve rate cuts.
Markets now fully price in a 25-basis-point rate cut only by December 2025, compared to prior expectations of an October move, based on CME Group's FedWatch Tool.
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) extended its 2025 rally, jumping 2% above $111,000 to set fresh all-time highs. The world's largest cryptocurrency is now up 20% year-to-date. 
Gold prices, however, fell 0.7% to trade below $3,200 per ounce. Despite Thursday's drop, the precious metal has surged 25% so far in 2025, outperforming other major asset classes, continuing to attract inflows amid sticky inflation and uncertain fiscal policy paths.

Ralph Lauren generated $1.24 billion in operating cash flow and held&nbsp;$1.92 billion&nbsp;in cash and equivalents&nbsp;as of March 29, 2025, compared to $1.07 billion and $1.67 billion in the year-ago quarter.

The company repurchased approximately&nbsp;$425&nbsp;million&nbsp;of Class A Common Stock in the year, with $352 million remaining on its existing share repurchase plan at the end of the fiscal year.
Ralph Lauren&#8217;s Board of Directors approved a 10% increase in its regular quarterly cash dividend on Common Stock.
The revised dividend is now $0.9125 per share each quarter, payable on July 11, 2025, to shareholders on record as of June 27, 2025.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Quarterly And Annual Outlook</h2>
On a constant currency basis, the company projects revenue growth of around <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">single digits for the first quarter</a> compared to the same period last year.
For FY26, Ralph Lauren anticipates revenue growth in the low-single digits compared to the previous year on a constant currency basis, with most of this growth expected to occur in the first half of the fiscal year.
RL said that based on the current assessment of tariff rates, gross margin is expected to be approximately flat in constant currency, with AUR growth, reduced cotton costs and favorable geographic and channel mix offsetting the negative impact of increased tariffs and non-cotton material costs. Based on current exchange rates, foreign currency is expected to have a relatively minimal impact on revenue and gross and operating margins in Fiscal 2026.
