The complaint seeks an order requiring that four board seats be up for election at Phillips' 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders (the "Annual Meeting").&nbsp; After receiving Elliott's notice of director nominations, on February 18 Phillips announced that two sitting directors previously in the 2025 class, Gary Adams and Denise Ramos, would not stand for reelection, and that the size of the Board would be reduced from 14 to 12 directors after the Annual Meeting. BMO's latest ETNs target the <a href="https://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/bmo-and-rex-shares-launch-us-big-banks-and-us-big-oil-leveraged-inverse-leveraged">energy </a>sector through the Solactive MicroSectors U.S. Big Oil Index, which consists of major oil players such as Exxon Mobil (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XOM#NYSE">XOM</a>), Valero Energy (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VLO#NYSE">VLO</a>), Phillips 66 (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PSX#NYSE">PSX</a>), Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OXY#NYSE">OXY</a>), and Chevron (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CVX#NYSE">CVX</a>). The bank has introduced two ETNs for investors with opposing market views:
MicroSectors U.S. Big Oil 3X Leveraged ETNs (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NRGU#NYSE">NRGU</a>), which seeks to generate three times the daily return of the index, and MicroSectors U.S. Big Oil -3X Inverse Leveraged ETNs (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NRGD#NYSE">NRGD</a>), which provides the inverse, delivering negative three times the index's daily movement.
These products allow investors to make tactical bets on the energy market, especially as oil prices remain highly sensitive to geopolitical and economic changes.
BMO hasn&#8217;t left the financial sector behind, with new leveraged and inverse ETNs tied to the Solactive MicroSectors U.S. Big Banks Index. This index tracks heavyweights such as JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JPM#NYSE">JPM</a>), Goldman Sachs (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GS#NYSE">GS</a>), Morgan Stanley (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MS#NYSE">MS</a>), Citigroup (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/C#NYSE">C</a>), and Bank of America.
The MicroSectors U.S. Big Banks 3X Leveraged ETNs (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BNKU#NYSE">BNKU</a>) provides three times the daily return of the index. On the other hand, the MicroSectors U.S. Big Banks -3X Inverse Leveraged ETNs (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BNKD#NYSE">BNKD</a>) moves in the opposite direction, offering negative three times the daily performance.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BMO's Growing Crypto Bet</h2>
BMO has also recently made a significant push into Bitcoin ETFs. According to a February <a href="https://www.binance.com/en/square/post/20289730836265">report </a>from Binance, which cited an SEC filing by BMO, the bank has upped its Bitcoin ETF holdings from $13 million to $150 million, a staggering 1053.85% increase in just one quarter.
Regulatory filings submitted to the U.S. SEC on January 13 revealed that BMO had allocated $139 million to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin ETFs, with the remaining $11 million divided among ETFs from ARK 21Shares, Grayscale, and Fidelity.
The leveraged and inverse ETNs cater to active traders looking for higher exposure to high-momentum sectors, while the Bitcoin ETF investment signals institutional optimism in crypto's long-term potential.

Former U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich has called out the tax reduction plans of the Donald Trump-led administration in an X post, terming them as an &#8220;absolutely shameless giveaway,&#8221; that could shoot up the deficit by $4.6 trillion.

Trump's Tax Cut Could Add $4.6 Trillion To Deficit, With $48 Billion Tax Relief For Top 100 Firms: Robert Reich

U.S. stocks edged marginally lower on Tuesday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reiterated that the central bank is in no hurry to cut interest rates during his testimony before the Senate Banking Committee, offering little <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/economics/macro-economic-events/25/02/43628752/feds-powell-reiterates-no-hurry-to-cut-interest-rates-as-inflation-remains-somewhat-elevated">support for risk assets.</a>
Investors remained on edge ahead of Wednesday's key inflation report, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics set to release the January Consumer Price Index.
The S&amp;P 500 dipped 0.1%, the Nasdaq 100 declined 0.2%, and small-cap stocks underperformed. Bucking the trend, the Dow Jones Industrial Average posted a marginal 0.1% gain.
Company-wise, Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/INTC#NASDAQ">INTC</a>) surged 7%, after Vice President J.D. Vance indicated that artificial intelligence chips will be manufactured in the U.S.
Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) fell by over 4%, reaching the lowest levels in eleven weeks, pressured by weak January auto sales in China.
Geopolitical tensions flared as the European Union threatened countermeasures in response to President Donald Trump's announcement of 25% tariffs on aluminum and steel.
Long-dated Treasury yields moved higher, with the 10-year yield rising to 4.54%. Yet, the broader dollar index – as tracked by the Invesco DB USD Index Bullish Fund ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UUP#NYSE">UUP</a>) – weakened, down 0.2%. 
Gold paused for a breather, remaining flat at $2,900 per ounce. Oil prices inched up by 1%, eyeing the third straight session of gains. 
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) weakened 1.3% to $96,000.

US Stocks Dip As Powell Stays Cautious, Intel Climbs, Tesla Sinks To 11-Week Low: What's Driving Markets Tuesday?

U.S. stocks were slightly lower, with the Nasdaq Composite falling around 0.1% on Tuesday.
Shares of Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LSCC#NASDAQ">LSCC</a>) rose sharply during Tuesday's session <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/02/43608715/lattice-semiconductor-shares-jump-after-mixed-q4-results-strong-q1-guidance">following quarterly results.</a>
Lattice reported quarterly earnings of 15 cents per share, which missed the analyst consensus estimate of 19 cents. Quarterly revenue came in at $117.41 million, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $117.09 million.&nbsp;
Lattice Semiconductor shares jumped 10.6% to $60.25 on Tuesday.

<li>Tempus AI, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TEM#NASDAQ">TEM</a>) surged 9.2% to $74.65.</li>
<li>Watts Water Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WTS#NYSE">WTS</a>) gained 8.5% to $226.50 following better-than-expected quarterly financial results.</li>
