It also invests in land acquisition and development to support future building activities and is also engaged in financial services operations which includes providing mortgage banking services through its joint venture with a third party.

KB Home (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KBH#NYSE">KBH</a>) shares are <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/movers" rel="noreferrer noopener">trading lower on Friday</a>.
The firm is leading the way in wildfire resilience with its newly unveiled <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/03/b44511945/kb-home-introduces-wildfire-resilient-neighborhood" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dixon Trail community in Escondido, California.</a>
The company said in a statement on Thursday that this development is the first in the nation to meet the home- and neighborhood-level wildfire resilience standards set by the Insurance Institute for Business &amp; Home Safety.
The homes in Dixon Trail are built with fire-resistant materials and methods based on over a decade of IBHS wildfire research.
These homes are designed to the highest level of protection against direct flame contact, radiant heat, and embers, reducing the likelihood of wildfire spread.
Upon completion, Dixon Trail will feature 64 homes, each constructed to the Wildfire Prepared Home Plus standard, ensuring they meet the strictest fire mitigation requirements.

The community itself will also receive a provisional Wildfire Prepared Neighborhood designation, with plans for a final certification once an IBHS evaluation confirms that it meets the necessary standards for wildfire resilience.
These standards include structure separation, fire pathway reduction, and the use of wildfire-resilient building materials.
Jeffrey Mezger, CEO of KB Home, expressed pride in the company&#8217;s innovative approach to wildfire resilience.
He highlighted the importance of both homesite- and neighborhood-level strategies in preventing catastrophic wildfires.
Dixon Trail represents KB Home&#8217;s commitment to offering future homeowners a safer, more resilient living environment, marking another milestone in the company&#8217;s history of pioneering sustainable and disaster-resilient housing solutions.

Shares of KB Home (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KBH#NYSE">KBH</a>) were rising in early trading on Wednesday, after tanking in the previous session on the company's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/03/44465789/kb-home-q1-earnings-revenue-miss-eps-miss-demand-more-muted-than-expected-buyers-responding-favorably-to-value-pivot-and-more">downbeat fiscal first-quarter revenues</a>.
The company is witnessing a softer start to the Spring selling season than in the past few years, according to JPMorgan.
The KB Home Analyst: <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/58f9fdc60bd991000159a4c3/michael-rehaut">Analyst Michael Rehaut</a> reiterated a Neutral rating, while cutting the price target from $74.50 to $68.00.
The KB Home Thesis: Consumer demand has been impacted by "affordability and macro uncertainty, resulting in slower decision making," Rehaut said in the note.

While KB Home witnessed a steep decline in orders in the first quarter, its margins contracted due to a reduction in prices in mid-February to stimulate demand, he added.
Management lowered their full-year housing revenue guidance by 6% and gross margin guide by 90 basis points at the midpoint, the analyst stated.
Although KB Home recorded a "meaningful improvement" in orders during the back half of the first quarter, following the price cuts, builders are likely to face "a less supportive demand/supply backdrop in 2025," he wrote.
KBH Price Action: Shares of KB Home had risen by 1.59% to $59.50 at the time of publication on Wednesday.

RBC Capital Markets On KB Home
<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/5e3aa3632d37ce00019c9bcf/mike-dahl">Analyst Mike Dahl</a> reiterated a Sector Perform rating, while reducing the price target from $67 to $63.
KB Home reported soft quarterly results, with orders down 17% year-on-year versus its "roughly flat" guidance, Dahl said in a note. While a miss was expected, the magnitude was much higher than feared, he added.
Management cut its full-year gross margin guide to 19.2%-20.0%, from their prior projection of 20%-21%, with the fiscal second-quarter guidance of 19.1%-19.5% coming in below consensus of 20.1%, the analyst stated. The company's guidance could still "prove optimistic in a softer/competitive environment with potential increased cost pressures," he wrote.

Keefe, Bruyette &amp; Woods On KB Home
<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/584feeb6ee7bf600019078df/jade-rahmani">Analyst Jade Rahmani</a> maintained a Market Perform rating and price target of $76.
KB Home's earnings of $1.49 per share missed consensus of $1.57 per share, with deliveries of 2,770 units declining by a higher-than-expected 9% year-on-year, Rahmani said. The company's fiscal second-quarter guidance implies a midpoint of earnings of $1.45 per share versus estimates of $1.89 per share, he added.
Management lowered their full-year housing revenue from $7.0-$7.5 billion to $6.6-$7.0 billion, average selling prices from $488,000-$498,000 to $480,000-$495,000, and gross margins from 20%-21% to 19.2%-20.0%, the analyst stated. "This implies midpoint EPS of approx. $7.22 vs. our $8.25E," he further wrote.

KB Home Analyst Says Outlook Could Still 'Prove Optimistic,' While Flagging Cost Pressure Risks

Homebuilders are sounding the alarm on the state of American consumers, as sales depend on increased incentives and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/03/44465789/kb-home-q1-earnings-revenue-miss-eps-miss-demand-more-muted-than-expected-buyers-responding-favorably-to-value-pivot-and-more">lower home prices</a>. 
What To Know: Lennar Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LEN#NYSE">LEN</a>) and KB Home (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KBH#NYSE">KBH</a>) each reported disappointing first-quarter financial results in the past week. Both companies pointed to slowing "actionable demand" from homebuyers on earnings calls with analysts. 
Lennar Co-CEO Stuart A. Miller listed several factors contributing to the decrease in homebuyers' demand, including limited funds for down payments, high levels of personal debt, and hard-to-achieve income qualifications for mortgages.

"A somewhat confused consumer and wavering consumer confidence have challenged the consumer&#8217;s desire and ability to transact. While there continues to be considerable traffic and customers looking for homes, the urgency to actually transact remains tepid," Miller said on the earnings call.&nbsp;
Miller also raised concerns about new immigration policies and tariffs that could affect the housing industry.&nbsp;
"The housing market has softened as affordability and consumer confidence have limited actionable demand. Incentives have been increasing, and net housing prices seem to be moderating," Miller said, adding that at least housing will not be contributing to current inflationary pressures.&nbsp;
Executives at KB Home gave similar comments on Monday's earnings call after the company lowered its revenue guidance for fiscal 2025 due to softer demand at the start of the spring selling season.
"Consumers are working through affordability concerns and uncertainties related to macroeconomic and geopolitical issues, which are causing them to move slowly in their homebuying decisions," said Jeffrey Mezger, CEO of KB Home.
The company lowered its base prices to align with market conditions and stimulate demand, he explained.
"In mid-February, we took steps to reposition our communities to offer the most compelling value, and buyers responded favorably to these adjustments," Mezger added.
Robert McGibney, COO, added that about half of their communities saw price reductions ranging from $5,000 to $30,000, averaging around $15,000 to $16,000. McGibney noted that Florida was the softest state in terms of sales demand and required more significant pricing adjustments, while less adjustments were needed in the West and Southwest regions.&nbsp;
