Shares of power companies have also gained as data centers and AI applications raise demand for energy to power the emerging technologies.&nbsp;

(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) in September which includes plans to restart Unit 1 of the Three Mile Island nuclear facility. The reopening is part of a 20-year power <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/09/40957437/microsoft-taps-constellation-for-20-year-carbon-free-power-3-400-jobs-coming-to-pennsylvania">purchase agreement</a> to power Microsoft's AI data centers.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Vistra Corp. Nuclear Energy Stocks Are Hot: Here's A List Of Tickers To Watch

Tech industry tycoon Elon Musk made comments in support of nuclear energy at an event over the weekend, adding to the current buzz surrounding <a href="https://x.com/MarioNawfal/status/1847466596995834126">the nuclear energy sector</a>.
What Happened: Musk held a Town Hall event in support of Donald Trump's presidential campaign in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday where he spoke about the safety of modern nuclear reactors. 
Musk said that the dangers of nuclear power are "greatly overstated."&nbsp;
"With the latest technologies, you can actually make a nuclear reactor where it is literally impossible to melt it down if you tried to melt it down," he said.&nbsp;

Musk has been a strong advocate for nuclear power and has called the shutting down of nuclear power plants &#8220;total madness&#8221; and &#8220;extremely crazy." He has also argued in favor of reopening closed nuclear power plants and Constellation Energy Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CEG#NASDAQ">CEG</a>) has plans to do just that.&nbsp;
Three Mile Island: Constellation Energy announced on Sept. 20 that it plans to restart Unit 1 of the Three Mile Island nuclear facility. Google Chooses Nuclear: Tech giant Alphabet, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) has also chosen nuclear power for its AI data centers. Last week, Google signed a Master Plant Development Agreement with Kairos Power to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/24/10/41339316/google-goes-nuclear-for-ai-power-israeli-restraint-impacts-stocks-gold-and-oil">deploy a fleet</a> of advanced nuclear power projects totaling 500 MW by 2035. The Google agreement will likely build more excitement for nuclear power.
AI data centers and other AI infrastructure require enormous amounts of constant energy and the tech industry is showing <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41176088/what-happened-with-vistra-constellation-energy-stocks-today">strong interest</a> in nuclear energy as a potential solution for clean, reliable power generation.
Fast Energy: Elon Musk previously predicted that solar energy will be the main long-term power source for civilization, but said nuclear power is necessary in the interim as it is &#8220;the fastest to produce energy.&#8221; It looks like Google and Microsoft agree with Musk.&nbsp;

Elon Musk Goes Nuclear, Says Dangers 'Greatly Overstated' As Google Signs Nuclear Power Deal

<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/09/40748259/kevin-oleary-warns-kamala-harris-tax-plan-could-crush-u-s-businesses-heres-why-he-thinks-its-a-t">Kevin O&#8217;Leary</a> recently stirred the pot, dismissing concerns that automation in U.S. ports would harm worker wages. As East and Gulf Coast ports started buzzing again, O&#8217;Leary took the opportunity to address what he saw as the real issue: inefficiency.&nbsp;
He pointed out that U.S. ports, especially on the East Coast, are lagging behind international players like Singapore in terms of productivity.

"These ports are outdated," O&#8217;Leary explained during his appearance on "Varney &amp; Co.," adding, "When compared to highly automated hubs in Asia, we're not even in the same ballpark. And that's just bad for business." His solution? Automation.
According to ABC News, the recent labor dispute between U.S. dockworkers and employers ended with a tentative wage deal, giving workers a substantial 62% pay hike.&nbsp;
However, the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) union remains adamant against automation. In a firm statement, the ILA said they would not accept any technology that risks jobs or undermines historical work roles, ensuring that job security was a top priority.

But O&#8217;Leary isn&#8217;t buying that argument. "Look, there's been no real evidence that automation reduces <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/startups/24/07/40068579/all-of-us-pay-for-the-fact-that-youre-not-paying-that-person-enough-says-mark-cuban-about-entreprene">wages</a>," he said. "If anything, wages for those skilled in operating new tech could actually increase."&nbsp;
According to studies cited by O&#8217;Leary, automation doesn't displace workers as much as it shifts the kind of work they do. He suggests that as ports become more tech-savvy, jobs may evolve to more specialized roles, potentially leading to wage increases rather than cuts.
Backing up O&#8217;Leary's perspective, Eric Hoplin, CEO of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), pointed out that major global ports like Rotterdam, Shanghai and Singapore have embraced automation long ago.&nbsp;

&#8220;We're decades behind," he told "Mornings With Maria," emphasizing that resisting technological change would leave the U.S. port industry stuck in the past. According to Hoplin, while union demands for protection against automation are understandable, they may be unrealistic in today's fast-moving, tech-driven world.
While controversial, automation isn't necessarily the enemy of workers. According to the McKinsey Global Institute, automation across various industries has enhanced productivity and sometimes raises wages in specialized sectors.&nbsp;
According to Oxford Economics and as cited by JPMorgan, analysis of the recent strike estimated that disruptions to U.S. port operations could cost the economy between $3.8 billion and $4.5 billion per day, highlighting the critical need for efficiency at these ports.

However, not everyone agrees with O&#8217;Leary's optimism. Some labor experts argue that while automation might increase productivity, the gains often favor companies over workers. As ports become more automated, traditional jobs may disappear, leaving workers without the skills to transition to new roles.&nbsp;
According to a recent report by the International Labor Organization, automation in certain sectors has historically led to job cuts, particularly among low-skilled workers, underscoring that not all effects of automation are positive.

How Did Al Pacino Go Broke?
You might wonder how someone who reached the heights of stardom, collecting millions, could lose it all. In Pacino's case, his poor money management and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/10/41204085/what-screams-im-upper-class-these-are-the-not-so-subtle-signs-of-wealth-according-to-people-on-s">extravagant lifestyle led to his downfall</a>. In his memoir, he reveals just how bad it got. "I had about ninety grand in the bank and that was it," he wrote, sharing that he was spending a fortune without much coming in.&nbsp;
In fact, he was dropping around $400,000 a month – a sum that included maintaining two homes, multiple apartments and even an office. "I was spending $400,000 a month and didn't know it was happening. You've got to be dumb," he wrote. He elaborated, "I had property but I didn't have any money … The kind of money I was spending and where it was going was just a crazy montage of loss."

By 2011, Pacino's money woes hit rock bottom. His accountant had been running a Ponzi scheme and as Pacino later found out, was sentenced to prison. That left him in financial free fall. "I had fifty million dollars and then I had nothing," Pacino wrote, reflecting on just how quickly the money disappeared. Faced with mounting expenses, Pacino took on projects purely for financial reasons.
One of those projects was Jack and Jill, the 2011 Adam Sandler film widely panned by critics (it holds a 3% score on Rotten Tomatoes). In the movie, Pacino plays an over-the-top version of himself, starring in a fake Dunkin' Donuts commercial that left audiences cringing. So why did he do it? Pacino candidly admitted, "It came at a time in my life that I needed it because it was after I found out I had no more money."

His financial recovery took time, but Pacino has regained his footing, partly thanks to his more recent projects. His deal with HBO, for instance, saw him earning $10 million per movie, with three films under his belt already. Rosenberg warned the S&amp;P 500 is at least 25% higher than fundamentals suggest it should be with stock prices outpacing earnings growth and analyst EPS revisions trending to the downside.&nbsp;
The economist is bearish on the economy as well as the markets and anticipates a recession on the horizon. Rosenberg pointed to emerging signs of economic weakness, including a rise in unemployment and decreased job openings.&nbsp;
Rosenberg's warnings come at a time when the S&amp;P 500 has seen significant gains, up 23% year-to-date following gains of 22% in 2023. Market 'Mega-Bubble' Set To Pop, Says Top Economist Who Called 2008 Crash

A recent survey by Naxtisis Investment Managers reveals that financial advisors worldwide are concerned about retaining clients and assets during the impending &#8220;Great Wealth Transfer.&#8221; This massive transfer of over $84 trillion in assets over the next two decades is seen as a significant threat<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/20/10/17786534/millennials-have-68-trillion-coming-their-way-from-greatest-wealth-transfer-in-hist"> by 41% of advisors.</a>
The survey, conducted among 2,700 advisors across 20 countries, found that 30% worry about retaining assets from clients&#8217; spouses or children. While advisors report retaining 78% of relationships when spouses inherit, this drops to 58% with clients&#8217; children. Overall, 22% of advisors have already lost significant assets through generational attrition.
To combat this trend, advisors are aiming to add an average of 16 new clients annually and grow their AUM by 11%. Relationship-building is cited by 92% of advisors as their primary retention strategy. Many are extending family wealth planning discussions to clients&#8217; family members and offering additional services like trust and networking services.

They&#8217;re prioritizing pre-retirees and those entering retirement, with 96% focusing on the 50-60 age group and 88% on the 60-65 age bracket. Interestingly, 46% are also targeting younger accumulators aged 35-50, while only 14% are prospecting among the 18-35 age group.
To enhance their prospecting efforts, about half of the advisors plan to create dedicated prospecting teams. Many are also leveraging social media strategies (43%) and considering AI-powered tools (21%) for client acquisition.
Dave Goodsell, executive director of the Natixis Center for Investor Insight, emphasizes the importance of asking existing clients for referrals as a key growth strategy. He also notes that deepening relationships with clients and expanding financial planning services will be crucial for long-term success in the face of these demographic shifts and competitive pressures.
As the wealth transfer accelerates, advisors must adapt their strategies to navigate both short-term economic risks and long-term business challenges to ensure the continuity and growth of their practices.

The treehouse alone brings in $30,000 a year in income, but Sutherland also has a renovated school bus on his property that he rents out to guests and a bathhouse for anyone staying on the land.

&#8220;We basically live in a little miniature community here, flanked by our bus guests and treehouse guests all the time,&#8221; Sutherland said.&nbsp;
The Airbnb income is rewarding in more ways than one. Sutherland now works from home, which has freed up more time that he can spend with friends and family. He also feels fulfilled seeing his guests create memories in a treehouse he built himself.
