Gold Breaks To A New High And Can Go Much Higher, Stocks And Gold Running On 50 BPS Cut

<p>At midday on Thursday, Wall Street was showing slight gains, with small caps leading the charge. The Russell 2000 index surged 1.2%, outperforming large-cap indices <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/small-cap">in a notable rebound.</a></p>
<p>The session kicked off with the release of the August Producer Price Index (PPI), which revealed mixed inflation data, following a slightly hotter-than-expected underlying consumer inflation picture a day earlier. </p>
<p>However, the PPI report had little impact on market expectations surrounding future Federal Reserve rate cuts, with traders fully pricing in a reduction in the fed funds rate next week.</p>

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024, subject to certain conditions being satisfied.1</p>
<p>Under the terms of the agreement, Newmont expects to receive gross proceeds of up to $475 million, which includes:</p>

<li>Equity consideration of $167.5 million in the form of Greatland shares, to be issued upon closing

<p>FMC delivered better-than-expected results in the second quarter on the back of higher volumes. It saw improved demand in the quarter, leading to an increase in sales volumes, especially in the United States and Brazil. <p>The acquisition of BioPhero ApS, a Denmark-based pheromone research and production company, also adds biologically produced state-of-the-art pheromone insect control technology to the company&#39;s product portfolio and R&amp;D pipeline, highlighting FMC&#39;s role as a leader in delivering innovative and sustainable crop protection solutions.</p>
<p>FMC is also expected to benefit from reduced input costs, a favorable product mix and its cost-control actions. It benefited from favorable input costs in the second quarter of 2024. FMC is also making progress with its global restructuring and cost-reduction program. It sees benefits from restructuring to contribute $75-$100 million to full-year 2024 adjusted EBITDA, net of inflation.</p>
