The company is facing a federal recall <a target="_blank" href="https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2025/INOA-RQ25002-13790.pdf" rel="noreferrer noopener">probe</a> by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) concerning nearly 299,000 Stellantis vehicles.
The investigation, known as Recall Query RQ25002, is focused on gear shifter cable bushings that could fail, potentially leading to unintended vehicle movement if the transmission remains in the wrong gear, despite the shifter appearing normal. This posed a risk of the vehicle rolling away if the driver exited without realizing it wasn&#8217;t in PARK.

This issue was previously addressed in a 2019 recall (19V-293) for 2013–2016 Dodge Dart vehicles, but 44 complaints of recurring problems prompted the new probe to assess the effectiveness of the prior fix and explore other potential causes.
In corporate news, the company announced it will report its first-half 2025 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/07/g46217299/stellantis-to-announce-first-half-2025-results-on-july-29" rel="noreferrer noopener">financial results on Tuesday, July 29.</a>
In a separate release, Stellantis said FCA US reported a total of 309,973 vehicles sold in the U.S. during the second quarter of 2025, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/07/n46210551/fca-us-reports-second-quarter-2025-us-sales-results" rel="noreferrer noopener">down 10% from the prior year</a>.
However, the Ram and Jeep brands showed strength, with the Ram 1500, ProMaster van, and Jeep Wrangler among the standout performers.
The Ram brand reported a 5% quarterly sales increase, led by a 17% boost in Ram 1500 deliveries. Jeep Wrangler sales climbed 23% year over year, while the plug-in hybrid 4xe variant recorded its best April since launch.
From the first quarter to the second quarter, Ram sales rose 18%, and Jeep Wrangler sales jumped 26%. Jeep Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, and Compass models also posted sequential growth.
The company noted over 10,000 orders in just one day following the return of the HEMI V-8 engine to Ram&#8217;s lineup.
Year-to-date, Ram retail sales rose 25%, while Jeep and Dodge also delivered gains. Fiat saw notable growth, with Fiat 500e sales up 286% compared to the first half of 2024.
With fresh marketing campaigns tied to upcoming blockbuster films and a new powertrain warranty for Ram vehicles, Stellantis appears to be positioning its portfolio for continued engagement.
Additionally, the Chrysler brand is celebrating its 100th anniversary with special edition releases and events.
According to&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://pro.benzinga.com/?gspk=YWRhbWVja2VydDUzMzY&amp;gsxid=zBMR4PKmcgBw" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga Pro</a>, STLA stock has lost over 48% in the past year.

The company on Wednesday provided an update on its Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/07/g46216046/cipher-mining-surpasses-hashrate-growth-forecasts-at-black-pearl-and-announces-june-2025-operation">mining operations for June</a>.
What To know: Cipher said it produced 160 Bitcoin last month and sold 58, ending June with total Bitcoin holdings of approximately 1,063. 
The miner had an operating hashrate of 16.8 EH/s as of the end of the month. Cipher Mining also announced that the first phase of its Black Pearl site is currently delivering approximately 3.4 EH/s of self-mining capacity, versus the company&#8217;s prior guidance of 2.5 EH/s for the second quarter. 
Cipher said it expects its hashrate to continue to increase at the site through the&nbsp;third quarter&nbsp;as new mining rigs are delivered. The company anticipates scaling its hashrate to about 23.1 EH/s upon completion of the installation.

Puckrin emphasized that while Fed Chair Jerome Powell remains cautious, growing pressure from Trump and some FOMC members to slash rates, possibly to 1%, could soon force a pivot. 
He believes once the rate cuts arrive, liquidity will flood markets, and Bitcoin's bull run will ignite, with current prices offering deep value.

MSC Industrial Direct Co. Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSM#NYSE">MSM</a>) posted better-than-expected financial results for i<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/MSM/earnings">ts fiscal third quarter of 2025 on Tuesday.</a>
Net sales slipped 0.8% year over year to $971.1 million but edged past the consensus estimate of $970.23 million. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.08, down 18.8% year over year, topping analysts&#8217; expectations of $1.03.
"The fiscal third quarter included encouraging data points, such as core customer sequential improvement, continued momentum in our high-touch solutions and a building productivity pipeline. Looking longer term, we remain steadfast in our commitment to restoring performance consistent with our long-term objectives of growing to 400 basis points or more above the IP Index and expanding operating margins to the mid-teens," commented Erik Gershwind, Chief Executive Officer.
MSC expects fourth-quarter average daily sales to range from a decline of 0.5% to a gain of 1.5%, with an adjusted operating margin of 8.5% to 9%. For fiscal year 2025, the company expects a free cash flow conversion of ~120% and capital expenditures of ~$100 million-$110 million.
MSC shares fell 0.8% to trade at $89.53 on Wednesday.

President Donald Trump&#8217;s megabill and his overall economic agenda would increase economic growth, spur job creation, boost wages and lower the national debt, according to an updated <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/06/analysis-one-big-beautiful-bill-will-boost-wages-lower-deficits/">report</a> released Wednesday by the White House Council of Economic Advisers. But Furman&#8217;s analysis reveals the mathematical impossibility of achieving this goal in the remaining timeframe.
Here&#8217;s the stark reality: With tariff revenue representing less than 0.5% of GDP, hitting the administration&#8217;s debt reduction target would require more than 10% annualized GDP growth in Q3 alone. To put that in perspective, the U.S. economy hasn&#8217;t seen sustained double-digit growth since the post-World War II boom.
The <a href="https://x.com/jasonfurman/status/1937997861678973193">chart</a> accompanying Furman&#8217;s post shows two dramatically different trajectories for America&#8217;s debt path through 2034. The Congressional Budget Office&#8217;s baseline projects debt rising steadily to around 117% of GDP by 2034. Meanwhile, the Trump administration&#8217;s &#8220;midpoint estimate&#8221; shows debt falling to around 94% of GDP by the same year—a gap of more than 20 percentage points.

Growth Expectations: The administration&#8217;s projections appear to rely on unprecedented growth rates that could leave markets vulnerable to disappointment when reality sets in.

Furman&#8217;s analysis exposes a critical flaw in the administration&#8217;s revenue assumptions. While the CBO estimated that more tariff revenue would help shrink the federal budget deficit by $2.7 trillion from fiscal years 2025 to 2034, the immediate impact for fiscal 2025 is minimal.
Tariffs currently generate less than 0.5% of GDP in revenue. Even aggressive tariff increases can&#8217;t move the debt-to-GDP needle significantly in just three months, especially when you consider the typical lag between policy implementation and revenue collection.
