This performance surpasses the broader market, as the S&amp;P 500 and NASDAQ Composite indexes have generated approximately 6% in returns year-to-date.
In May, Nvidia reported <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/06/46177736/what-is-going-on-with-nvidia-stock" rel="noreferrer noopener">first-quarter revenue</a> of $44.1 billion, a 69% increase year-over-year and a 12% sequential rise. This figure exceeded the Street consensus estimate of $43.2 billion, despite a new export ban impacting sales of its chips to China, one of its significant markets.

Several recent events have influenced Nvidia&#8217;s valuation. On July 4, 2025, President Donald Trump unveiled the &#8220;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/07/46291393/micron-stock-soars-42-in-2025-but-ceo-warns-of-demand-pull-ins" rel="noreferrer noopener">Big Beautiful Bill</a>,&#8221; which would raise the semiconductor investment tax credit from 25% to 30% through 2026, giving chipmakers more substantial incentives to expand U.S. manufacturing.
He also created the United States Investment Accelerator within the Commerce Department by executive order, shifting control of the CHIPS Act program directly under the White House.
Although Trump previously criticized the $39 billion in grants and $75 billion in loans under the CHIPS and Science Act, he now backs pro-chip policies through this bill, which has cleared the Senate and is awaiting a House vote.

Nvidia, in turn, reaffirmed its partnership with OpenAI, highlighting its role as the core hardware provider for OpenAI&#8217;s AI models.

Reportedly, contract chipmaker and key Nvidia supplier Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) has <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/07/46283410/taiwan-semiconductor-shifts-focus-100-billion-usa-expansion" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">accelerated its U.S. expansion</a>. This move is a response to Washington&#8217;s chip tariff policies, leading TSM to delay the construction of its second plant in Japan to prioritize its growing American footprint.
In March, TSM Chairman C.C. Wei announced an additional $100 billion U.S. investment, building on the $65 billion disclosed in April 2024. This expanded investment aims to boost domestic chipmaking to support major clients like Nvidia and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) and reduce reliance on overseas production.
Meanwhile, the U.S. is drafting <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/asia/25/07/46266218/us-plans-to-restrict-ai-chip-exports-to-malaysia-thailand-to-curb-diversion-to-china" rel="noreferrer noopener">new export controls</a> to prevent Nvidia AI chips from reaching China via third-party routes, specifically through Malaysia and Thailand. This marks the first formal step in Trump&#8217;s overhaul of prior AI chip export rules, though key security questions remain unresolved.
These U.S. sanctions had previously compelled Nvidia to halt H20 chip exports to China on April 9, resulting in a $4.5 billion first-quarter charge for Nvidia, attributed to excess inventory and purchase commitments. Consequently, Nvidia projected its second-quarter revenue at $45 billion, approximately $780 million below estimates, citing an $8 billion impact from lost H20 sales due to these export restrictions.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Analyst Projections</h2>
Thirty-seven analysts have set a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/NVDA/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus price forecast</a> of $179.17 for Nvidia. Loop Capital issued the highest forecast at $250 on June 25, 2025, while Seaport Global gave the lowest at $100 on April 30, 2025. The latest ratings from Citigroup (July 7), Mizuho (July 3), and Loop Capital (June 25) average a forecast of $208.33, suggesting a potential upside of 30.65% for Nvidia based on those recent views.

The company reported $438 million in revenue and $89 million in EBITDA for the twelve months ending March 31, 2025. About 70% of its revenue comes from re-roofing and maintenance services, areas typically resistant to economic swings.
The company projects the acquisition will be immediately accretive to adjusted earnings per share. The implied valuation stands at 9.1 times trailing 12-month EBITDA or 8.6 times including anticipated synergies of $5 million.

Progressive&#8217;s customer portfolio includes institutional and commercial clients in education, healthcare, government, and tech. Its operating model, which focuses on analytics and supplier relationships, closely matches TopBuild&#8217;s, making for a smooth integration. Both companies have a history of growth through acquisitions, and the deal is expected to provide a scalable platform in the fragmented $75 billion commercial roofing market.
As of first quarter of 2025, TopBuild&#8217;s pro forma net debt to adjusted EBITDA is approximately 1.6x. As of March 31, cash and cash equivalents stood at <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45227446/topbuild-q1-sales-dip-eps-tops-estimates-seal-rite-deal-boosts-long-term-outlook-guidance-reaffirmed" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">$308.811 million</a>.

Most people forget where they put their keys. This mom forgot where she parked her stock account — and when she finally logged in, there were $18 million reasons to pay attention.
A 50-year-old homeschooling mother <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC-vODaUX-M">called into "The Ramsey Show"</a> with a very unrelatable problem: "I had some stocks that were underwater… totally forgot I even had them," she told Dave Ramsey. "A couple years ago it just went crazy&#8230; I have up to about $18 million right now."
The tech stocks were part of an old employee benefit from over 20 years ago. She left the company when she was pregnant with her first child and never looked back — literally. "I actually didn't even know where my stock was," she said, admitting it took her digging through old accounts just to locate it. "It was completely underwater and I just filed it away somewhere."

Fast forward to today, and what was once a $14-per-share investment — with multiple stock splits since — now has her feeling nervous. "It's all tied up in one stock, which makes me a little nervous," she said. Despite the windfall, she hasn't changed her lifestyle. The family still lives on her husband's single tech salary, around $250,000 a year. She's never done much online investing and is now <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/financial-advisors/25/07/46264474/dave-ramsey-says-real-estate-can-outperform-stocks-but-warned-that-higer-returns-dont-come-free">left wondering how to manage the money</a>.
Ramsey didn't waste time pointing out the obvious risk — holding $18 million in a single stock isn't just unusual, it's dangerous. He brought up the classic expression about baskets and eggs, noting the importance of spreading money out to avoid disaster.
"It used to be $3, and it could be that again," he warned. "The concept of diversification gives you safety. Not having all your eggs in one basket — you've probably heard that, right?"

He didn't stop there. Ramsey urged her to start offloading some of the stock, even if slowly. "Common sense says we need to get some of this off the table — the faster the better," he said. But he also emphasized doing it the smart way, not all at once, and not without a strategy.
But the real issue is the tax headache. With a household income under $400,000, she's looking at a 15% capital gains tax rate. But if she sells too much stock in one year and crosses the $583,000 income threshold (for married filing jointly), that jumps to 20%.
So, how much can she safely sell each year without triggering the higher tax rate? Not much. "If you only cash out $300,000 a year, you&#8217;re never going to get diversified," Ramsey said. "You'd have to live to be 300 years old to move it all."
That's where the hard question comes in: Would you give up $200,000 in taxes just to move $1 million out of a single stock and sleep better at night? Ramsey says yes — if it were him.
"I would rather have the safety than I would the extra 20%," he told her. "Would you rather have $14 million diversified or $18 million undiversified?"

Still, he advised against doing anything drastic. "Don't be in a rush," he said. "Get with a SmartVestor Pro. Get with a tax ELP. Learn about the taxes. Learn about the investing. Congratulations."
In other words: great problem to have — but don't wing it. Even if it takes giving the IRS a bite, better that than letting one tech stock hold your entire future hostage.
While Ramsey preaches diversification as a way to sleep at night, not everyone in the investing world agrees. Charlie Munger, Warren Buffett's longtime partner, once said, &#8220;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/management/25/06/45984919/charlie-munger-only-owned-3-stocks-and-called-diversification-a-strategy-for-people-who-know-nothing-am-i-securely-rich-damn-right-i-am">Diversification is a rule for those who don&#8217;t know anything</a>." Mark Cuban echoed a similar sentiment, saying diversification is <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/06/39360926/diversification-thats-for-idiots-mark-cuban-slams-warren-buffetts-investment-strategy-i-think-bu">"for idiots"</a> who don't know what they're doing. So while the advice to spread things out is mainstream — especially for everyday investors — some of the most successful outliers have made fortunes by going all-in on what they know.
