According to the analyst, RTX&#8217;s aerospace exposure is expected to enable it to outpace other defense companies, leveraging operational efficiencies to drive long-term growth and compound earnings.
The analyst sees potential for further stock upside with RTX currently valued similarly to pure defense companies for 2026 but boasting a more promising long-term growth outlook due to its aerospace exposure.
Deuschle writes that the overall narrative for RTX is compelling, as long as operational improvements persist.
The analyst forecasts third-quarter earnings per share of $1.36, exceeding the Street&#8217;s expectation of $1.32 by $0.04.

The analyst projects Raytheon&#8217;s revenue will decline quarter-over-quarter but sees upside potential due to strong demand, favorable DoD spending trends, and gradually improving conditions in the defense supply chain.
EPS estimates for 2024-2026 have been revised to $5.48, $6.06, and $6.88, respectively, from $5.48, $6.17, and $6.93.
This decrease is mainly due to lower original equipment rate assumptions for both Boeing and Airbus, partially offset by a better product mix and higher margins.
Meanwhile, operational risk keeps them at a Hold rather than a Buy.

Deutsche Bank Changes Tune On Raytheon Parent RTX, Sees Aerospace Edge Fuel Long-Term Growth Potential

Lockheed Martin Corp.&#39;s (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/lmt#NYSE">LMT</a>) business segment, Space Systems, recently clinched a modification contract for manufacturing its Trident II D5 missile. Per the terms of the deal, Lockheed will also offer deployed systems support and Warhead 93/Mark7 development for Trident II D5 missile.&nbsp;

Valued at $2.11 billion, the contract is projected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2029. The award has been provided by the Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C.
A major portion of work related to this deal will be carried out in Denver, CO, Valley Forge, PA, Titusville, FL and Magna, UT.

On Wednesday, RTX Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RTX#NYSE">RTX</a>) said Raytheon has secured a three-year, two-phase contract from DARPA to develop foundational<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/10/n41126763/rtxs-pratt-whitney-opens-its-largest-military-engines-facility-in-oklahoma-city" rel="noreferrer noopener"> ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors.</a>
These will be based on diamond and aluminum nitride technology, which revolutionizes semiconductor electronics by increasing power delivery and thermal management in sensors and other electronic applications.
In phase one of the contract, the Raytheon Advanced Technology team will develop diamond and aluminum nitride semiconductor films and integrate them into electronic devices.
Phase two will focus on optimizing and advancing this technology for larger diameter wafers intended for sensor applications.
&#8220;Raytheon has extensive proven experience developing similar materials such as Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitride for Department of Defense systems,&#8221; said&nbsp;Colin Whelan, president of Advanced Technology at Raytheon.

On Tuesday, RTX said Raytheon received a&nbsp;$192 million&nbsp;contract from the U.S. Navy to develop the Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band Expansion, an upgrade to the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/41118565" rel="noreferrer noopener">current Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band system.</a>
In a separate press release yesterday, RTX said its unit Pratt &amp; Whitney&nbsp;celebrated the opening of its new 845,000-square-foot facility in&nbsp;Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, solidifying its position as the business&#8217; <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/10/n41126763/rtxs-pratt-whitney-opens-its-largest-military-engines-facility-in-oklahoma-city" rel="noreferrer noopener">largest military engines field location</a>.
The&nbsp;$255 million&nbsp;investment will enable Pratt &amp; Whitney to meet the growing demands of both U.S. and global defense customers for the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/41122954" rel="noreferrer noopener">F135, F117, TF33, F100 and F119 engines.</a>

It is important for investors to look ahead and not in the rearview mirror.
Consider continuing to hold good, very long term, existing positions. Based on individual risk preference, consider a protection band consisting of cash or Treasury bills or short-term tactical trades as well as short to medium term hedges and short term hedges. This is a good way to protect yourself and participate in the upside at the same time.
You can determine your protection bands by adding cash to hedges. The high band of the protection is appropriate for those who are older or conservative. The low band of the protection is appropriate for those who are younger or aggressive. If you do not hedge, the total cash level should be more than stated above but significantly less than cash plus hedges.
A protection band of 0% would be very bullish and would indicate full investment with 0% in cash. A protection band of 100% would be very bearish and would indicate a need for aggressive protection with cash and hedges or aggressive short selling.
It is worth reminding that you cannot take advantage of new upcoming opportunities if you are not holding enough cash.  When adjusting hedge levels, consider adjusting partial stop quantities for stock positions (non ETF); consider using wider stops on remaining quantities and also allowing more room for high beta stocks. High beta stocks are the ones that move more than the market.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Traditional 60/40 Portfolio</h3>
Probability based risk reward adjusted for inflation does not favor long duration strategic bond allocation at this time.
Those who want to stick to traditional 60% allocation to stocks and 40% to bonds may consider focusing on only high quality bonds and bonds of five year duration or less.&nbsp; Those willing to bring sophistication to their investing may consider using bond ETFs as tactical positions and not strategic positions at this time.
