Scams, Lost Keys, and Forgotten Wallets: The Bitcoin Whisperer Who Brings Crypto Back

According to a report, approximately 50,000 officials have reportedly joined a platform led by an opposition figure, aimed at overthrowing the Tehran regime.
What Happened:&nbsp;Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran&#8217;s last monarch, has established a secure platform&nbsp;for regime defectors to register&nbsp;and access information on campaign strategies. 
Launched a month ago, the platform has seen a substantial number of registrations, predominantly from Iran&#8217;s military, paramilitary, and security forces. Pahlavi, often dubbed Iran&#8217;s &#8220;crown prince&#8221; by his followers, mentioned that the registration numbers are still being verified.
As per the report <a href="https://www.politico.eu/article/exile-iran-prince-reza-pahlavi-50000-defectors-topple-regime/">by </a>Politico, Pahlavi also stated that a separate website&nbsp;for ordinary Iranian citizens to&nbsp;express&nbsp;their interest in joining the&nbsp;national campaign against the regime will be launched soon. 
"There's tens of thousands, the last estimate is over 50,000 at least, maybe more. Every week we have additional numbers coming. Clearly we have to analyze the data, it's an arduous process, it will take some time, but the signals are quite strong. We have received tremendous response, and of course we are giving top priority to key elements within those designated segments that I mentioned," he told the outlet.

Meta Platforms Inc&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) has reached a settlement with its shareholders and company leadership, thereby avoiding an $8 billion trial. 
What Happened: This move spares CEO&nbsp;Mark Zuckerberg from testifying about&nbsp;alleged data violations.
The lawsuit was initiated by Meta shareholders against Zuckerberg&nbsp;and other former company officials, including ex-Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg. 
The shareholders aimed to hold them accountable&nbsp;for billions of dollars in&nbsp;fines and legal costs the&nbsp;company has incurred in recent years.
Meta shareholders had alleged that&nbsp;current and former officers and&nbsp;directors of Facebook failed to safeguard users&#8217; data, reports Reuters. 
In 2019, the Federal Trade Commission imposed a $5 billion fine on Facebook for not adhering to a 2012 agreement to safeguard users&#8217; data. 
The shareholders demanded&nbsp;the 11 defendants to use&nbsp;their personal wealth to compensate the company. The defendants refuted the allegations, which they dubbed as &#8220;extreme claims&#8221;.

But according to this Reddit user, his mother has been receiving and spending his checks without ensuring the money went toward his care. "She just does what she wants with it," he wrote. He also said she lost or hid his Social Security card, making it harder for him to get an ID and regain control of his finances.

After an eviction earlier this year, the man began living with his uncle, who is now helping him get back on his feet. He recently fixed a name mismatch on his records — a first step toward obtaining proper ID and a replacement Social Security card.
He wants to become his own payee but isn&#8217;t sure what the process involves. "I'm in their face telling them that I'm 100% capable of managing my own money," he wrote, wondering whether SSA would require a doctor's statement or other evidence.

According to <a href="https://disabilityrightswa.org/publications/how-change-remove-or-report-representative-payee/">Disability Rights Washington</a>, individuals can request a new capability determination at any time if there's reason to believe they are now capable of managing their benefits. The agency evaluates requests using legal, medical, and personal evidence.
To support a request, a beneficiary may want to gather:

The beneficiary — or anyone aware of the situation — can report it to the Social Security Office of the Inspector General.
While this Reddit user acknowledged others have suggested reporting his mother, he hesitates. "I don't want to see my own mother locked up," he wrote, pointing out that she still has other children in her care.

The user said he doesn't have access to a caseworker or social worker, but he may be able to get help through agencies like Disability Rights organizations or the Department of Human Services in his area. He's not angry at them. He's angry at time.
"You become invisible when you get older," he said. "Even women your age don't want you."
Despite having more money than most people dream of, he admits he feels like he missed the point.

Host Dave Ramsey didn't waste time easing into it. "You bought things you couldn't afford with money you didn't have — both under the influence of your parents," he said. "You make $70K a year, and you're so far in debt you can't breathe."&nbsp;
Mike's massive student loan balance came from attending a private university, initially for finance. He later switched majors to criminal justice and eventually earned a master's degree — which didn't do much for his career prospects in law enforcement.
"My mother wanted me to go to that school," he admitted.
"Well," Ramsey replied, "you're 31. You're going to have to love your parents without letting them dictate your financial life."
Mike lives with his girlfriend and her daughter, but they aren't married. She's studying to become a nurse practitioner and reportedly earns around $89,000 a year — but she's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/25/02/43768530/should-married-couples-split-expenses-dave-ramsey-says-no-youre-married-not-roommates">not interested in discussing finances</a>.
"She said she's too busy with school and doesn't want to worry about that right now," Mike said.

That drew a sharp warning from Ramsey: "If you're not on the same page about money, you're not ready to be on the same page about marriage. The number one cause of divorce is money fights and money problems. You already see it when you go on domestic calls."
Even if the relationship does move toward marriage, Ramsey told Mike the numbers still don't work. "You <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/07/46265990/dave-ramsey-calls-58-year-old-with-1-million-in-her-401-k-a-victim-of-the-real-estate-market-for-cho">cannot afford a $185,000 house</a> making $70,000 a year — especially not alone," he said. "That house is in your name, not hers. And right now, you can't afford it."
After breaking down the debt and income mismatch, Ramsey offered a clear short-term goal: boost income fast.
"You need side work," he said. "Security gigs outside your department pay $40 to $50 an hour. That's what it's going to take to dig out."

Ramsey offered to enroll Mike and his girlfriend in Financial Peace University, but the bigger question loomed: Would they take the next step together, or would the silence around money keep digging the hole deeper?
"You're heading straight at the wall with the accelerator on the floor," Ramsey told him. "You have to turn the wheel."
