EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SATS#NASDAQ">SATS</a>) shares are trading higher Friday after the company confirmed President Trump encouraged it and the FCC chair to reach a deal over its wireless spectrum licenses and a report that stated EchoStar is making <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/06/n46043459/investor-alert-pomerantz-law-firm-investigates-claims-on-behalf-of-investors-of-echostar-corporati">delayed interest payments, averting default.</a>
The move comes as EchoStar continues to face regulatory uncertainty stemming from an ongoing Federal Communications Commission review of its use of cellular and satellite spectrum licenses. The company had initially withheld payments to allow time to gather information and explore potential resolutions with the FCC. According to a company filing, EchoStar Chairman recently met with FCC Chair Brendan Carr to discuss concerns about possible changes to previously approved spectrum construction timelines and usage rules, which could threaten company operations.
What To Know: The payments, originally due on May 30 and June 2, are being made within the 30-day grace periods, satisfying requirements under the company's bond agreements.
The regulatory pressure has triggered concerns among creditors but the company emphasized that it is acting in good faith to cure technical defaults while continuing discussions. President Trump reportedly encouraged both EchoStar and the FCC to work toward a resolution, a development that may have further calmed investor fears.
While the company is addressing the previous missed payments, it also disclosed that it will not be making $114 million in interest payments due on July 1, tied to senior notes maturing in 2026 and 2028, according to the <a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/telecom/echostar-making-delayed-interest-payments-averting-default-dda1d563">Wall Street Journal.</a> These payments are also subject to a 30-day grace period and the company has not ruled out further delays as it evaluates its strategic options amid ongoing regulatory negotiations.

Simple idea. Wildly uncomfortable. And coming from Munger — who'd <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/25/04/45110288/99-year-old-billionaire-charlie-munger-said-iron-rule-of-life-is-everybody-struggles-but-you-have-to-soldier-through-its-your-only-option">lived through losing a child</a>, going blind in one eye, and outlasting almost everyone else in the game — it carried weight. He didn't say it to sound poetic. He meant it.
When Quick asked if he had followed that same principle for himself, Munger replied, "I've written my obituary the way I've lived my life, and if you want to pay attention to it, that's alright with me. And if they want to ignore it, that's OK with me too. I'll be dead."

J.P. Morgan Asset Management launched the latest salvo of the 2025 <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs">bond ETF </a>boom on Thursday, rolling out the JPMorgan Active High Yield ETF (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JPHY#BATS">JPHY</a>) with a jaw-dropping $2 billion in assets. 
Supported by a large institutional investor, the launch is the largest active ETF launch on record, and one that sets a high standard as investors increasingly look to fixed income strategies in uncertain market conditions.
JPHY follows the ICE BofA US High Yield Constrained Index and carries an expense ratio of 0.45%.

While JPHY is the star, it&#8217;s part of an even wider trend of demand for fixed income ETFs. Through mid-June, inflows to fixed income funds were poised to shatter last year&#8217;s record $303 billion in net inflows, according to VettaFi. 
Advisors, no longer happy to leave client portfolios sitting in cash, are actively looking for smarter yield plays, and JPMorgan is serving up as a go-to provider.
The company currently oversees $55 billion in actively managed fixed income ETFs, taking in $10 billion of new assets already this year. 
JPHY capitalizes on that momentum by providing even higher exposure to high-yield bonds, but with continued leverage of JPMorgan&#8217;s active management advantage. As opposed to passive rivals like the iShares Broad USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USHY#BATS">USHY</a>) and iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HYG#NYSE">HYG</a>), which have amassed $4 billion and $1.9 billion of inflows, respectively, so far this year, according to VettaFi, JPHY seeks to outperform through active security selection.
&#8220;This is just the beginning of a trend that should see active fixed ETF AUM quadruple in the next five years,&#8221; George Gatch, CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, said.

Wall Street flipped sharply Friday afternoon after President Donald Trump stunned markets by halting all trade negotiations with Canada, a reversal that chilled earlier optimism and sent investors <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/economic-data/25/06/46146713/trump-dollar-outlook-tariffs-debt">fleeing from risk assets.</a>
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Canada "has just announced that they are putting a Digital Services Tax on our American Technology Companies," calling it "a direct and blatant attack on our Country." 
The president declared an immediate end to trade discussions, adding, "We will let Canada know the Tariff that they will be paying to do business with the United States of America within the next seven-day period."
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Markets Reverse Course On Shock Announcement</h2>
The shift in tone came as a shock to Wall Street, which had rallied earlier in the day on hopes that multiple trade deals were advancing.
The S&amp;P 500, which hit a record intraday high of 6,187, dropped sharply to 6,135 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. ET, wiping out gains.
Coinbase Global Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/COIN#NASDAQ">COIN</a>), Enphase Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ENPH#NASDAQ">ENPH</a>) and Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PLTR#NASDAQ">PLTR</a>) were the S&amp;P 500&#8217;s worst performers, down 7.1%, 6.9% and 4.5% respectively.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell from 43,977 to 43,589, a 0.8% intraday swing, while the Nasdaq 100 declined from 22,600 to 22,400 as tech shares gave back momentum.
Earlier on Friday, markets had rallied after Trump said four to five trade agreements were in progress, and after U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutwick confirmed a finalized deal with China involving reduced tariffs and safeguards for rare earths.
Currency markets reacted swiftly to the new tension. The euro-dollar exchange rate reversed sharply, falling below the 1.17 mark and turning negative for the day. The U.S. Dollar Index climbed to 97.50, on track to close higher after hitting the lowest levels since early 2022.
The Canadian dollar sharply weakened, with the USD/CAD exchange rate surging from 1.3670 to 1.3750 amid concerns that the trade fallout could hurt economic growth.
Meanwhile, the iShares MSCI Canada Index Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/EWC#NYSE">EWC</a>) slipped nearly 1%, falling from $45.78 to $45.39.

'Senate Slated To Take First Vote On Megabill Saturday' - Politico

Billionaire Bill Gates has <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/08/40359364/bill-gates-jeff-bezos-and-jack-ma-backed-breakthrough-energy-ventures-nears-1b-goal-for-climate-focu">backed several clean energy</a> companies with his Breakthrough Energy Ventures and one of those companies could have a way to change wind energy forever.
While Airloom Energy could disrupt the wind energy sector, it also faces a tough industry that may experience slower growth as President Donald Trump fights against it.
What Happened: Airloom, which is <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/startups/23/11/35852638/why-bill-gates-is-betting-big-on-wind-power-startup-airloom-companys-novel-turbines-are-more-efficie">backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures,</a> recently broke ground on a rectangular wind turbine pilot site in Wyoming.
The company's Rock River, Wyoming site is part of its new utility-scale turbine that seeks to be more efficient, cheaper and faster to install than existing three-blade wind turbines, as reported by <a href="https://electrek.co/2025/06/26/bill-gates-backed-rectangular-turbine-pilot-could-upend-wind-power/">Electrek</a>. &nbsp;
"Current energy technologies can't meet the growing complexity and demand of the next decade," Airloom CEO Neal Rickner said. "We need more flexible systems that can be built fast and at scale. That's the only way we'll get to real energy security and independence."
Built with small, mass-produced parts that are made in America, Airloom's turbines are cheaper to ship and easier to install. The company said its turbines can be up and running in under a year, versus other wind turbine projects that can take five years.
While traditional three-blade wind turbines move in a circular motion, Airloom's turbines use a motion in a rectangular area that can capture more wind in less space. This method could make Airloom's turbines more accessible for installation in areas with limited land or height restrictions compared to other models.
Airloom's Wyoming site is intended as a pilot to demonstrate the technology before commercial projects commence in 2027. The company is also exploring using its technologies for other use cases like offshore wind power, disaster relief and defense, according to the report.
Airloom raised $7.5 million in seed funding in October 2024 with Breakthrough Energy Ventures among the investors. Gates is the founder of a climate-focused fund that also counts several other billionaires among its investors.
Airloom has a $1.25 million contract from the Department of Defense and a $5 million funding match from the state of Wyoming
Company advisor Paul Judge, who previously worked for GE Onshore Wind, said the pilot test in Wyoming is a big moment in Airloom's history.
"This pilot is more than a test site; it's the beginning of a fundamentally new approach to resilient renewable energy generation: wind energy that's faster to deploy, land-efficient, and built for the challenges ahead," Judge said.

Why It's Important: The potential advancement in wind energy from the Gates-backed company comes as the wind energy sector faces setbacks from the current White House administration.
President Trump has said "no windmills" and <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/temporary-withdrawal-of-all-areas-on-the-outer-continental-shelf-from-offshore-wind-leasing-and-review-of-the-federal-governments-leasing-and-permitting-practices-for-wind-projects/">issued </a>an executive order halting permits for new onshore wind projects when he took office.
"We're going to try to have a policy where no windmills are being built," Trump <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/5071767-trump-were-going-to-try-to-have-a-policy-where-no-windmills-are-being-built/">told </a>reporters earlier this year.
The president has been vocal about his dislike for wind turbines that can be seen near his golf courses, and he has also linked the deaths of whales to offshore wind turbines.
Airloom's made-in-America parts could be a potential highlight for winning over Trump for new wind projects in the U.S., along with the projects occupying less space and being lower in the air.
There is also the growing demand for AI and data centers that could increase the necessity for more energy projects in the wind and nuclear sectors.
In the end, the world's fifth-richest person could end up at odds with the U.S. president and speak out about the need for more renewable energy in the country.

The Cryptomist <a href="https://x.com/Thecryptomist/status/1938640631875665936">says</a> BTC has already broken out and is now eyeing a push toward $109,000. If Bitcoin clears the $109,000–$109,500 resistance band, it could rally further to $111,000.
Roman, however, <a href="https://x.com/Roman_Trading/status/1938620587037102268">urges</a> caution. While acknowledging BTC's upside potential, he warns that high timeframe indicators resemble those seen near the 2021 market top, raising the risk of a 75%+ correction if history rhymes. The current risk-reward ratio, he suggests, is becoming less favorable.
Rekt Capital adds that Bitcoin's most recent price discovery correction lasted unusually long compared to prior cycles. For BTC to form three distinct price discovery legs, any next correction may be shorter and sharper, marking a potentially volatile final phase of the bull run.

BofA Securities analyst Peter T. Galbo reiterated the Buy rating on Primo Brands Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PRMB#NYSE">PRMB</a>), with a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/PRMB/analyst-ratings" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">price forecast of $42.</a>
Galbo noted that Primo Brands shares saw a brief rebound after weak performance in early June, supported by slightly improved one-week scanner data — but much of that gain was erased following another slowdown the next week.
The analyst reminded investors that the second and third quarters account for about 53% of the company&#8217;s annual sales, and that NielsenIQ scanner data is updated every two weeks.

According to Galbo, bottled water demand is closely tied to both temperature and rainfall patterns.
As part of his ongoing coverage, he plans to examine recent U.S. weather trends and share upcoming forecasts from the National Oceanic &amp; Atmospheric Administration.
Galbo reviewed recent scanner data, noting that the 8% year-over-year sales decline for the week ending May 31 was mainly driven by poor weather, especially in the Northeast.
Sales trends improved slightly the following week, with a 1% decline as conditions improved, but fell again in the week ending June 14 with a 4.5% drop.
Looking ahead, Galbo expects next week's data for the week ending June 21 to show a modest rebound, thanks to hotter and drier weather across key regions served by Arrowhead and Ozarka.
While Deer Park and Poland Spring markets also experienced warmer-than-normal conditions, the impact on demand is less certain.
The analyst added that the Northwest heatwave could help sustain sequential gains, and data for the week ending June 28 may reflect a lift from the recent Northeast heatwave.
Galbo pointed to NOAA's six–10 day forecast, which continues to show elevated temperatures across much of the U.S.—particularly in the North and Southeast (covering Poland Spring and Deer Park), as well as the West Coast, Texas and Florida (key markets for Arrowhead, Ozarka and Zephyrhills).
Rainfall is expected to remain only slightly above average in most regions, with heavier precipitation limited to less densely populated states where Arrowhead is sold.
PRMB Price Action: Primo Brands shares are trading higher by 0.65% to $29.27 at publication on Friday.
