The company has beat analyst revenue estimates in six straight quarters and beaten estimates in eight of the past 10 quarters overall.
Analysts expect Netflix to report first-quarter earnings per share of $5.72, up from $5.28 in last year's first quarter. The company has beaten analyst estimates in four straight quarters and eight of the past 10 quarters overall.

What Analysts Are Saying: Netflix has "ample runway for continued growth" with subscriber growth and more monetization opportunities, Bank of America analyst Jessica Reif Ehrlich said in a recent investor note.
The analyst reiterated a Buy rating on Netflix with a $1,175 price target.
Ehrlich highlighted a recent <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/04/44806071/netflix-eyes-1-trillion-market-cap-by-2030-aims-to-double-revenue-and-dominate-global-streaming-report">Wall Street Journal report </a>that said Netflix is targeting doubling its revenue by 2030 and hitting an $1 trillion market capitalization.
"This validates our bullish thesis on Netflix as it underscores ample runway for continued growth driven by further subscriber additions," Ehrlich said.
The analyst said Netflix's strong subscription model has performed historically well in a recession, making the stock a "defensive choice" for investors.
"Netflix's advertising business, which is nascent, should be an incremental positive, not negative, even in a more challenging advertising backdrop. We expect shares to react positively to this longer-term outlook."
Freedom Capital Markets Chief Global Strategist Jay Woods said Netflix has given back all the gains from its last earnings cycle and could be hoping to get back to previous levels with its first-quarter results.
"Shares are seen as a safer haven in this tariff war environment but have not been immune to the wild market swings we have been seeing," Woods said in a weekly <a href="https://jaywoods.substack.com/">newsletter</a>. "It has continued to put up solid numbers and fared better than most growth stocks during this time."
Woods said there are more positives than negatives when looking at Netflix stock technically.
Key Items to Watch: Netflix will not break out subscriber growth in its first-quarter results, a change it previously announced. This change comes after Netflix had record subscriber growth of 18.91 million paid additions in the fourth quarter.
Netflix ended the fourth quarter with 301.63 million subscribers. The fourth quarter figure was helped by strong content that included a boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, two NFL Christmas Day games and a second season of "Squid Game."
While Netflix's first quarter didn't have the same key content that brought in subscribers, the company kicked off its weekly WWE Raw content in January and had many other new shows and movies hit the platform during the quarter.
If Netflix doesn't break out any total subscriber figures, investors and analysts will look to dissect future guidance or what content was said to have performed the best.
The Wall Street Journal report said Netflix is targeting 410 million global subscribers by 2030, suggesting plenty of upside for the next five years to its most recently reported figure.
Netflix has new seasons of "Stranger Things," "Wednesday" and "Squid Game" along with more NFL games on Christmas planned for later in 2025. The company could highlight its upcoming slate of content to increase excitement among investors and analysts after the strong fourth quarter and end to 2024.
Updates on live sports content plans and the company&#8217;s gaming segment could also provide upside to the stock and highlight future monetization efforts. 
The company's commentary on macroeconomic issues and global uncertainties could also show how its streaming platform is insulated from tariffs and send shares higher.
NFLX Price Action: Netflix stock traded down Wednesday by 1.36% at $962.97 on Wednesday versus a 52-week trading range of $542.01 to $1,064.50. Netflix stock is up 10.2% year-to-date in 2025 and up over 50% in the past year.

The field spans 46,594 acres in the black oil window of Vaca Muerta. As of December 31, 2024, it had 247 producing wells and held an estimated 280 million barrels of oil equivalent in reserves at the end of 2023.

The company declared a four-for-one forward stock split and raised its quarterly dividend from 25 cents to 32 cents, effective June 16 after the market closes.
Following the earnings report, B of A Securities analyst Craig Siegenthaler maintained a Buy rating on Interactive and lowered the price target from&nbsp;$265&nbsp;to&nbsp;$243. Unlimited Unpacks Hedge Fund Alpha With Launch Of ETF Without High Fees, Lock-Up Features

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hinted the growing risk of higher inflation and slower growth tied to unexpectedly large trade tariffs rolled out earlier this month by <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/donald-trump">the Donald Trump administration.</a>
In remarks delivered Wednesday at the Economic Club of Chicago, Powell said that growth has softened in the first quarter of 2025, while inflation is &#8220;still running a bit above our 2% objective.&#8221;
The Fed Chair highlighted that surveys from households and businesses showed a notable deterioration in sentiment. 
Uncertainty around trade policy has been the dominant driver, causing many forecasters to cut their full-year outlooks. Nevertheless, most estimates still point to moderate, positive growth ahead.
&#8220;The new administration is in the process of implementing a substantial policy changes in four distinct areas: Trade immigration, fiscal policy and deregulation. These policies are still evolving and their effects on the economy remain highly uncertain,&#8221; Powell said.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Inflation Eased But Tariffs Pose Fresh Risks</h3>
Inflation is cooling, but not fast enough. Total Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) prices—the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge—rose 2.3% year-over-year through March. Core PCE, which excludes food and energy, climbed 2.6%.
These figures are well below the 2022 highs but still exceed the Fed's 2% target. Powell noted that inflationary progress continues "at a gradual pace," and that the central bank remains alert to any threats of reacceleration.
"Tariffs are highly likely to generate at least a temporary rise in inflation," he said. 
While some of that impact may be short-lived, Powell cautioned that it could persist depending on how long the price pressures take to pass through the economy.
The Fed's dual mandate—maximum employment and price stability—could be tested in the months ahead if inflation continues to rise even as growth slows. Should the two goals come into conflict, Powell said the Fed would weigh how far the economy is from each and the likely time needed to meet both targets.
&#8220;For the time being, we are well positioned to wait for greater clarity before considering any adjustments to our policy stance,&#8221; Powell said.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Powell Fields Questions On Tariffs, Labor, Market Volatility</h3>
During the Q&amp;A session, Powell reiterated the Fed's role in ensuring that inflation shocks from tariffs remain temporary. "Our role is to make sure that this will be a one-time increase in prices and not something that turns into an ongoing inflation process," he said.
Asked whether tariffs could result in a supply shock, Powell acknowledged the risk of persistence. "It can take time to resolve, and what would have been a one-time inflation shock could be extended—perhaps more persistent—and we would worry about that."
On immigration and labor market dynamics, Powell noted a decline in immigration could tighten labor supply, but layoffs in government-funded sectors have not yet materially affected the national workforce of 170 million people. "We're really hearing significant layoffs in cities with universities and research hospitals," he said, though the total economic impact remains hard to quantify.
Regarding fiscal policy, Powell called the federal debt "unsustainable in the long term," while emphasizing that "no one really knows how much further we can go." He underscored the importance of bipartisan cooperation to address ballooning costs in Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
On market speculation about a so-called "Fed put"—the idea that the central bank would intervene if markets plunge—Powell was unequivocal: "I'm going to say no."
While he acknowledged that markets are currently facing high levels of uncertainty, especially around policy changes and inflation, he made clear that the Fed's decisions are not driven by equity market volatility alone. 
He indicated that both equity and fixed-income markets are functioning in an order way, dismissing speculations of Treasuries dumping from foreign investors. 
&#8220;Market is processing historically unique developments,&#8221; he said.
The Fed Chair also confirmed that the central bank stands ready to provide U.S. dollars to foreign central banks via its standing swap lines in the event of global liquidity strains.
As for artificial intelligence, Powell described the technology's potential as "truly remarkable," but cautioned that its long-term labor impact remains uncertain. "It may be the case that AI replaces more jobs than it creates—we just don't know," he said.

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 16, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Scilex Holding Company (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SCLX#NASDAQ">SCLX</a>, "Scilex" or "Company"))), an innovative revenue-generating company focused on acquiring, developing and commercializing non-opioid pain management products for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, following the formation of its proposed joint venture with IPMC Company, neurodegenerative and cardiometabolic disease, today announced that FDA has approved our request for the Orphan drug designation for colchicine for the treatment of pericarditis.
Gloperba&#xAE; is taken orally like cough syrup. The dosage of 0.6mg per 5ml (teaspoon) can fill that important void in treatment where patients may have difficulty swallowing pills. It can also provide more adjustable dosing, titration and dose-reduction options in specific populations, especially for gout patients with renal or hepatic impairment and reduce side effects with the goal to improve patient convenience and disease management.
Under the Orphan Drug Act, the FDA may grant orphan designation to a drug or biological product intended to treat a rare disease or condition, which is generally a disease or condition that affects fewer than 200,000 individuals in the United States, or more than 200,000 individuals in the United States and for which there is no reasonable expectation that the cost of developing and making the product available in the United States for this type of disease or condition will be recovered from sales of the product. Orphan drug designation must be requested before submitting an NDA. After the FDA grants orphan drug designation, the identity of the therapeutic agent and its potential orphan use are disclosed publicly by the FDA. Orphan drug designation does not convey any advantage in or shorten the duration of the regulatory review and approval process. If a product that has orphan drug designation subsequently receives the first FDA approval for the disease or condition for which it has such designation, the product is entitled to orphan drug exclusivity, which means that the FDA may not approve any other applications to market the same drug for the same indication for seven years from the date of such approval, except in limited circumstances, such as a showing of clinical superiority to the product with orphan exclusivity by means of greater effectiveness, greater safety or providing a major contribution to patient care or in instances of drug supply issues.

Scilex Holding Says FDA Approved Request For Orphan Drug Designation For Colchicine For Treatment Of Pericarditis

Stephens &amp; Co. analyst Justin Long reiterated an <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/JBHT/analyst-ratings">Overweight rating </a>on the shares of J B Hunt Transport Services Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JBHT#NASDAQ">JBHT</a>) and lowered the price forecast from $170.00 to $165.00.
JBHT posted <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/guidance/25/04/44827812/jb-hunt-q1-earnings-revenue-beat-eps-miss-shares-skid">first-quarter FY25 earnings per share</a> of $1.17, topping both internal and consensus forecasts. 
The upside was largely due to stronger intermodal revenue, reduced losses in its Integrated Capacity Solutions (ICS) unit, and lower tax and interest costs, said the analyst.
J.B. Hunt's Intermodal (JBI) segment outperformed expectations, with volumes rising 7.6% year-over-year and contributing $0.07 in EPS upside, driven by strong growth in the Eastern network.

The Dedicated segment slightly beat revenue and margin estimates, adding $0.01 to EPS. 
However, weaker Final Mile Services (FMS) and Truckload (JBT) performance weighed on results. Intermodal volumes declined more than seasonal norms but still outperformed expectations. 
Final Mile revenue met projections, but weaker margins resulted in a $0.04 EPS hit. Brokerage missed revenue estimates but narrowed losses, adding $0.04 to EPS. Truckload revenue came in slightly light, and lower margins led to a $0.03 EPS shortfall.
The company continues to reduce ICS expenses and could achieve profitability in that segment this year. JBHT repurchased about 1% of its shares and maintains a focus on shareholder returns.
Price Action: JBHT shares traded lower by 8.47% at $123.68 at last check on Wednesday.
