Celanese shares are trading higher after the company reported better-than-expected Q1 financial results.

Upwork Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UPWK#NASDAQ">UPWK</a>) shares are trading higher Tuesday following better-than-expected first-quarter earnings and an upward revision to its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/25/05/45228179/upwork-delivers-solid-start-to-2025-analyst">full-year profit forecast.</a>
What To Know: The company reported adjusted earnings of 34 cents per share, beating the consensus estimate of 26 cents. Revenue came in at $192.71 million, also ahead of forecasts and slightly higher than the $190.94 million reported in the same quarter last year. 
The number of active clients reached 812,000 and gross services volume per client increased 3% year-over-year, marking the first positive growth in that metric in six quarters.
Upwork also raised its full-year 2025 adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $1.14 to $1.18, up from the previous range of $1.05 to $1.10. That new guidance exceeds Wall Street's estimate of $1.07. The company maintained its full-year revenue outlook between $740 million and $760 million, roughly in line with expectations.

Oklo Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OKLO#NYSE">OKLO</a>) shares are trading higher by 8.6% to $27.67 Tuesday afternoon after Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/pro/energy-policy/2025/05/06/scoop-white-house-seeks-to-hasten-nuclear-deployment">reported</a> that the White House is preparing executive orders aimed at fast-tracking the deployment of nuclear reactors. 
The news sparked investor enthusiasm for advanced nuclear developer Oklo, which specializes in compact reactors designed to deliver power for data centers, defense applications and remote sites.
What To Know: According to Axios, the planned executive actions would leverage the Departments of Defense (DOD) and Energy (DOE) to bypass traditional licensing delays from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). 
Citing multiple anonymous sources, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/pro/energy-policy/2025/05/06/scoop-white-house-seeks-to-hasten-nuclear-deployment">noted</a> the DOD could play a &#8220;key enabler&#8221; role due to its substantial energy needs and capacity to absorb regulatory risk.

The Irvine, California-based company just unveiled plans to spend $120 million on a 1.2 million-square-foot supplier park next to its Illinois factory, <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/rivian-to-build-120-million-dollar-supplier-park-in-illinois/chiI3uORbSb">reported</a> Stocktwits. The strategic move, meant to streamline operations ahead of R2 production in 2026, adds credibility to the EV maker's long-term story. 
Still, the stock dipped 1% in early trading as investors wait to see whether words will turn into numbers.

Still, Rivian&#8217;s stock is in the fast lane, trading above its 20, 50 and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs). Its Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator sits at 0.48, and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a comfortable 58.74 &#8211; signaling strong but not overheated momentum. Recent selling pressure can be seen as the stock trades below its eight-day SMA of $13.39.
Shares are up just 1% year to date, but the setup looks bullish overall in terms of earnings, especially with infrastructure expansion backing the narrative.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lucid: Low Power Mode?</h2>
Lucid is <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/LCID/earnings">expected to report</a> a 23-cent per-share loss on $250 million in revenue. But unlike Rivian, pre-earnings sentiment is weaker.

As the Saudi Public Investment Fund remains Lucid's largest backer, rising tariff risks under the Trump administration are spooking investors.

Technically, the setup is shaky. Newark, California-based Lucid is trading below its five, 20 and 50-day moving averages — classic bearish territory. RSI is stuck at 42.13, and the MACD is 0.00, lacking any direction and conviction.
Lucid stock is down nearly 24% so far in 2025. Investors may be more interested in clarity on Gravity SUV timelines and tech licensing than Tuesday&#8217;s revenue number.
With both Rivian and Lucid earnings on deck, signals suggest only one EV stock has the green light.

Rivian Vs. Lucid: One Of These Tesla Rivals Is Stuck In Neutral Ahead Of Q1 Earnings

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced its intent to expand the use of unannounced inspections at foreign manufacturing facilities that produce foods, essential medicines, and other medical products intended for <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care" rel="noreferrer noopener">American consumers and patients</a>.
This change builds upon the agency&#8217;s Office of Inspection and Investigations&#8217; Foreign Unannounced Inspection Pilot program in India and China and aims to ensure that foreign companies will receive the same level of regulatory oversight and scrutiny as domestic companies.&nbsp;
&#8220;For too long, foreign companies have enjoyed a double standard—given advanced notice before facility inspections, while American manufacturers are held to rigorous standards with no such warning,&#8221; said FDA Commissioner Martin Makary. &nbsp;
On Tuesday, the FDA <a target="_blank" href="https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-announces-expanded-use-unannounced-inspections-foreign-manufacturing-facilities?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery" rel="noreferrer noopener">said</a> it plans to review and improve its foreign inspection program to ensure it meets the highest standards for oversight. Part of this effort includes making it clear that FDA inspectors should not accept travel-related perks like hotel stays or transportation from the companies they inspect.

The FDA conducts about 12,000 inspections annually in the U.S. and 3,000 in other countries. While U.S. companies often get surprise inspections, foreign companies usually receive advanced notice, giving them time to prepare and potentially hide problems.
Still, foreign inspections often reveal serious issues, more than twice as often as domestic ones.
In the U.S., inspections are usually unannounced unless specific programs require advance notice to ensure staff and records are available.
Even then, companies can&#8217;t pick the date or time. The FDA says foreign companies shouldn&#8217;t have that option either.
By shifting to more surprise inspections abroad, the FDA aims to better protect American consumers by catching dishonest practices, like falsifying records or hiding violations, before they cause harm.
The agency can take action against any company that tries to delay, block, or refuse an unannounced inspection.
The update follows President&nbsp;Donald Trump&#8217;s signed executive order on Monday to promote prescription drug manufacturing in the U.S., streamlining the path for companies to build new production sites as potential tariffs on <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/tariffs" rel="noreferrer noopener">imported medicines loom</a>.
The order directs the FDA to reduce the amount of time it takes to approve manufacturing plants in the U.S. by eliminating unnecessary requirements, streamlining reviews, and working with domestic drugmakers to &#8220;provide early support before facilities come online,&#8221; <a target="_blank" href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/05/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-announces-actions-to-reduce-regulatory-barriers-to-domestic-pharmaceutical-manufacturing/" rel="noreferrer noopener">according</a> to&nbsp;a White House fact sheet.
It also directs the agency to raise inspection fees for foreign manufacturing plants, improve the enforcement of active-ingredient source reporting by overseas producers, and consider publicly listing facilities that don&#8217;t comply.
The White House <a target="_blank" href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/regulatory-relief-to-promote-domestic-production-of-critical-medicines/" rel="noreferrer noopener">estimates</a> that it can currently take five to ten years to build new pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity, which it calls &#8220;unacceptable from a national-security standpoint.&#8221;
<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/02/43906811/trump-reportedly-warns-big-pharma-move-manufacturing-to-us-or-face-tariffs" rel="noreferrer noopener">Amid tariff uncertainty</a>, many companies have disclosed a wave of investments in recent months to boost production in the U.S.

<li>Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. <li>Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PFE#NYSE">PFE</a>) did not highlight investments in new manufacturing plants; it noted that they already have significant capacity and flexibility to manufacture <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech/25/04/45118145/pfizer-ceo-albert-bourla-emphasizes-national-security-in-us-drug-manufacturing" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">their products in the U.S</a>.</li>
<li>Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. FDA Expands Surprise Inspections At Foreign Drug And Food Facilities, Targets Double Standards In Overseas Manufacturing Oversight

Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LLY#NYSE">LLY</a>) shares are trading lower Tuesday. The stock appears to be moving in reaction to an executive order from the Trump administration aimed at <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45215281/trump-orders-fda-to-fast-track-us-drug-production-as-tariff-threat-looms-on-imported-medicines-cites-national-security-concerns">boosting domestic drug manufacturing</a>.
What To Know: President Donald Trump signed a new executive order late Monday that aims to reshape the pharmaceutical supply chain by incentivizing drug manufacturers in the U.S., according to <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/05/05/trump-order-us-drug-manufacturing.html">CNBC.</a>
The order calls on federal agencies to speed up approval for U.S.-based manufacturing facilities, increase inspection fees on overseas drugmakers and streamline permitting through a coordinated, centralized process. 
The executive order directs the FDA to increase fees for foreign manufacturing plants and proposes publicizing facilities that fail to meet compliance standards. A key provision calls for &#8220;surprise&#8221; inspections abroad, ending the practice of giving advance notice to international sites, which U.S. plants are already subject to.
The policy shift comes as pharmaceutical imports into the U.S. remain high with $203 billion in imports in 2023 alone. Nearly 75% of the imported pharmaceutical products in 2023 came from Europe, mainly Ireland, Germany and Switzerland.
Although Eli Lilly manufactures a lot of its products in the U.S., the company has significant operations and investments in both Ireland and Germany. Eli Lilly also imports a lot of its pharmaceutical ingredients, however, the company <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/content/44189496/eli-lilly-pours-27b-into-u-s-growth-what-it-means-for-investors">announced plans</a> in February to invest $27 billion in U.S. manufacturing, with most plants focused on pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing.
The new executive order aims to reduce this dependency by encouraging U.S.-based production, which government officials argue is essential for national security and supply chain resilience.
Drugmakers such as Eli Lilly could face cost pressures from the realignment. The Trump administration is also preparing to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44708204/trump-hints-at-major-tariff-on-imported-pharmaceuticals-us-pharma-stocks-tumble-in-wednesday-pre-market">announce tariffs</a> on imported pharmaceuticals, adding another layer of uncertainty for companies with global supply chains. Several pharmaceutical stocks appear to be moving lower in response to the announcement and the potential implications for operating costs and regulatory compliance.

Eli Lilly Stock Is Sliding Tuesday: What's Going On?

Billionaire hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones believes the U.S. economy is either in or near recession. He also expects stocks to fall to new lows this year, but he has made similar predictions multiple times in recent years <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/short-ideas/22/10/29205954/paul-tudor-jones-correctly-predicted-the-1987-stock-market-crash-heres-what-the-billion">and been wrong.</a>
What To Know: Jones predicted Tuesday morning on CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Squawk Box&#8221; that a recession is nearing if the economy isn&#8217;t already in the middle of one.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t know whether it started now or it started two months ago &#8230; But I&#8217;m assuming we are going to go into one,&#8221; Jones said on the show.
He also predicted that President Donald Trump will ease tariffs on China to around 40% or 50%, from the current average of around 125% for most products. 
&#8220;I&#8217;m sure he&#8217;ll dial it back to 50 [percent]. I think that&#8217;s kind of in the market right now,&#8221; he said.
