Tesla (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) is finally moving forward with the release of its RoboTaxi. Still, despite the hype surrounding this, Tesla will be playing catch-up to Google's Waymo for the foreseeable future. In the here and now, TSLA stock faces significant headwinds from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which Trump is eager to get through Congress. The bill would significantly alter the EV landscape by adding or eliminating the following:

<li>The $7,500 tax credit for new EVs under Internal Revenue Code Section 30D would be phased out, as would the $4,000 tax credit for used EVs under Section 25E. The phaseout could begin as early as next year.</li>



<li>A new annual registration tax of $250 on EVs and $100 on hybrids for the Highway Trust Fund. This provision is seen as making EV owners pay their fair share for road use as they use less gas and, therefore, pay less in taxes for highway maintenance.</li>



<li>Cancellation of provisions in the Zero-Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) program allowing the sale or transfer of clean energy tax credits. Tesla earns approximately $2 billion annually from selling tax credits and has generated revenue from clean energy tax credit transfers since 2014.</li>



<li>Repeal of Section 30C tax credits for charging and alternative fuel infrastructure. This provision could significantly hinder the rollout of Tesla charging stations, which enable the company to generate revenue from non-Tesla electric vehicles.</li>



<li>Repeal of Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) subsidies for battery production and clean energy infrastructure, which could affect Tesla products like the Powerwall and Megapack batteries, as well as its solar panels</li>

Musk is right to be concerned about the bill's additions to the deficit, but dismantling EV incentives likely rankles him the most. However, Monday's close puts the stock at the 200-day moving average, which could serve as resistance, given that the 50-day is still trading below the 200-day. The MACD also shows crumbling momentum, indicating that traders are starting to look for greener pastures. A successful RoboTaxi rollout (or the survival of some EV tax credits) could trigger another round of upward momentum. Still, the short-term prognosis for TSLA shares doesn't look promising.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Destiny Tech 100 ETF&nbsp;</h2>



The Destiny Tech 100 (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DYYZ#NASDAQ">DYYZ</a>) sounds like an Elon Musk venture, but he has no hand in running this one. Instead, the Destiny Tech 100 is an innovative new closed-end ETF that seeks to provide private startup access to non-accredited investors. Usually, to invest in pre-IPO firms (like Musk's SpaceX), you need to be an accredited investor. This leaves private shares primarily in the hands of venture capital firms and high-net-worth individuals. The DXYZ fund allows anyone with a brokerage account to gain exposure to private startups like SpaceX, OpenAI, Stripe, Klarna, Discord, and more. The fund aims to hold shares in 100 private companies eventually but currently owns shares in just 22. As of this writing, over 54% of the fund's assets are tied up in SpaceX shares, including Class A, Class C, and Preferred Stock share classes. The fund being heavily invested in SpaceX presents a significant risk to investors, as Trump threatens the $15 billion in federal contracts currently on the books with Musk's space exploration firm.

DYXZ has a market cap of just over $465 million and trades about 700,000 shares daily on average. It also charges a 2.5% management fee, which reduces investors&#8217; profits more than a typical thematic ETF. The fund debuted on the New York Stock Exchange in March 2024 at $25 per share and quickly reached $60 before plummeting to under $10 by October. Volatility has been the name of the game since, with shares rallying to new all-time highs and then taking a 50% haircut within the span of a few months. The current trend appears to be breaking down, as the price took out a multi-week support level the day Trump and Musk began fighting; the MACD shows momentum continuing to erode. 



Another potential headwind here is the revival of the IPO market, as one of the key appeals of DXYZ is its ability to provide access to companies that are not available to retail investors. That advantage could fade if more exciting private firms begin to move forward with public offerings.

Trader Notes: ByBit partner Justin Bennett noted that after failing to hold the $106,600 level on Thursday, Bitcoin could either pull back or enter a consolidation phase on Friday. He expects a potential weekend rally into the $106,000–$107,000 range, a move he describes as "typical retail behavior." 



However, Bennett warns that BTC may revisit the $100,000 lows soon after. If Bitcoin manages a high-timeframe breakout above $107,000, this bearish scenario would be invalidated.

Michael van de Poppe <a href="https://x.com/CryptoMichNL/status/1933583899046625713">offered</a> a more optimistic take, pointing to Bitcoin's strong daily close despite heightened volatility. He sees it as a bullish continuation signal, implying that upward momentum likely isn&#8217;t exhausted yet.



Ted Pillows <a href="https://x.com/TedPillows/status/1933562044906643910">added</a> macro context, observing that while many are panicking over a 3%–5% dip, global M2 money supply is surging to all-time highs across major economies. With liquidity expanding rapidly, Bitcoin may be poised to catch up and rally in response.



Henry aka LordOfAlts emphasized Bitcoin&#8217;s resilience, stating the market has likely entered an accumulation phase. He believes recent price action reflects healthy corrections rather than a trend reversal. "Any breakdowns could be fakeouts," he said, encouraging traders to stay patient. His next short-term target for Bitcoin is $135,000.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Dogecoin Drop Further — Traders Eye Weekend Rally Before Retest Of $100K Lows

Retailer Walmart Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WMT#NYSE">WMT</a>) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/05/45536218/walmart-responds-to-trumps-eat-the-tariff-remark-worked-to-keep-our-prices-as-low-as-possible-and-we-wont-stop">has been battling</a> with the Donald Trump administration over tariffs and may have a new fight on its hands with Trump fans thanks to an heiress of the company's founding family.



What Happened: Walmart and the Trump administration have been going back and forth on tariffs and whether the retailer can publicly say it <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/retail-sales/25/06/45829026/walmart-shoppers-see-sharp-price-hikes-as-tariffs-hit-shelves">is passing costs </a>onto consumers.



An additional issue, which could possibly mean the retailer finds itself with fewer customers, is if it battles too hard with Trump fans due to Christy Walton.



Walton is the widow of John T. Walton, son of Walmart founder Sam Walton. The Walmart heiress funded a full-page ad for the "No Kings" movement placed in the New York Times, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/11/business/walmart-heiress-christy-waltons-anti-trump-ad-fuels-maga-led-call-for-boycott-of-retailer/">reported</a>.



The ad calls for a nationwide protest against Trump and asks Americans and other citizens to "mobilize" on Saturday, which is Trump's birthday and the day of a large military parade in the nation's capital.



Walton's funded ad also calls on Americans to "reject authoritarianism."



According to the report, the "No Kings" movement is planning around 1,500 nationwide protests on Saturday. The report notes that the movement is not holding a protest in Washington, D.C. on Saturday on purpose.



"The honor, dignity, and integrity of our country are not for sale," the ad reads, alongside a QR code that shows the map of protest locations.



A Christy Walton spokesperson said the ad does not encourage violent protests, but rather to "engage peacefully and civically."



"Christy has provided no funding to organizations or individuals involved in the demonstrations in Los Angeles or other cities, nor has she provided any funding to those organizing the upcoming events," the spokesperson said.



The spokesperson said Walton believes Americans have the right to protest, but not the right to violence.

Why It's Important: Walton is not involved in Walmart's operations, but her actions could end up hurting the future growth and revenue of the company her former husband's family founded. She maintains a 1.9% stake in the company.



Walton is worth $18.6 billion according to <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/?sref=TBDibEcD">Bloomberg</a>, ranking 117th among the world's billionaires. This trails other Walton figures like her son Lukas Walton, who is the 39th richest person worth $41.1 billion, and her husband's siblings Jim, Rob and Alice Walton, who rank 13th, 14th and 15th worth $119 billion, $117 billion and $116 billion, respectively.



The White House responded to the ad and brushed aside Walton's criticism.



"Great, a left-wing billionaire feels like burning some of her inheritance for a PR stunt," White House spokesman Kush Desai told The Post.



Desai said the ad would not change the fact that more than 77 million Americans voted for Trump and his "America First trade policies."



Some Trump allies indirectly and directly called for a boycott of Walmart.



White House special adviser Kari Lake shared the ad on X and asked her followers, "Do you shop at Walmart?"



Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) posted on X that Walton is funding ads for "No Kings Day," while naming her as a Walmart heiress.



"Looks like the Walmart dynasty is big mad about China tariffs," Luna said.



Trump supporter Roger Stone encouraged people to boycott Walmart.



"The Walmart heiress subsidizes insurrection. Next up, peaceful protests outside all of their stores to encourage people not to shop there. Essentially what left-wing stooges did to Tesla," Stone said.



Walmart has tried to distance itself from Walton.



"The advertisement from Christy Walton [is] in no way connected to or endorsed by Walmart," Walmart spokesperson Joe Pennington said.



Pennington said Walton "has no active role in company decisions."



This could end up being an unfortunate situation for Walmart and shareholders as a major boycott effort by Trump fans could impact sales. Walmart locations are often times found in rural locations and small cities that have leaned towards voting for Trump in recent elections.



WMT Price Action: Walmart stock closed down 1.01% to $94.83 on Thursday versus a 52-week trading range of $65.95 to $105.30. Walmart stock is up 5.4% year-to-date in 2025.
