Niraj Patel, Uber's Global Head of Consumer Vehicles, noted that adding Turo's carsharing options to the Uber app aligns with the company's mission to expand how people move.
He described it as a significant step forward in offering reliable and convenient travel alternatives.
On Wednesday, Uber disclosed a strategic partnership with iFood to enhance&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/large-cap/25/05/45434327/uber-ifood-unite-in-brazil-to-offer-one-stop-app-convenience" rel="noreferrer noopener">convenience for millions of Brazilian consumers.</a>
This collaboration will enable iFood users to book Uber rides directly through the iFood application, while Uber users will gain access to iFood's delivery services for food, groceries, pharmacy items, and convenience goods within the Uber app.
This collaboration intends to make everyday tasks easier for Brazilians by providing access to both transportation and delivery services within two of their most frequently used apps.
JMP Securities analyst Andrew Boone reiterated the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/UBER/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">Market Perform</a> rating on Uber.

Merck&nbsp;&amp; Co Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MRK#NYSE">MRK</a>) on Thursday said the Phase 3 KEYNOTE-B96 trial (also known as ENGOT-ov65), met its primary endpoint of progression-free survival (PFS) for platinum-resistant recurrent ovarian cancer whose tumors expressed PD-L1 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care" rel="noreferrer noopener">and in all comers</a>.
The study also met a secondary endpoint of overall survival (OS) in patients whose tumors express PD-L1.

The study is evaluating Keytruda&nbsp;(pembrolizumab), Merck&#8217;s anti-PD-1 therapy, in combination with chemotherapy (paclitaxel) with or without Roche Holdings AG&#8217;s (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RHHBY#OTC">RHHBY</a>) Avastin (bevacizumab) <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/b45431872/merck-announces-phase-3-keynote-b96-trial-met-primary-endpoint-of-progression-free-survival-pfs-in" rel="noreferrer noopener">for these patients</a>.
The trial continues, and OS for the full study population will be evaluated at a future analysis.
The Keytruda-based regimen demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in PFS regardless of PD-L1 status compared to placebo plus chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab.
The study also showed a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in OS in patients whose tumors express PD-L1 (Combined Positive Score [CPS] ≥1) compared to placebo plus chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab.
&#8220;This marks the first time a KEYTRUDA-based regimen has shown the ability to help certain patients with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer live longer, and the first time an immune checkpoint inhibitor-based regimen has demonstrated an overall survival benefit in ovarian cancer,&#8221; said Dr. Gursel Aktan, vice president, global clinical development, Merck Research Laboratories.
Keytruda is not approved for ovarian cancer.
Lynparza (olaparib), jointly developed by AstraZeneca Plc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AZN#NASDAQ">AZN</a>) and Merck, has three approved ovarian <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42393128/merck-reveals-mixed-data-from-keytrudalynparza-regime-in-ovarian-cancer" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">cancer indications in the U.S</a>.

Merck Data Shows Positive Outcomes For Ovarian Cancer Patients Treated With Keytruda

The company said it achieved a 60.8% response rate and 90.2% disease control rate as of the data cut-off <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/g45434128/immuteps-efti-with-keytruda-pembrolizumab-chemotherapy-achieves-high-response-rates-in-first-line-" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">date of May 6, 2025</a>.
Marc Voigt, CEO of Immutep, stated, &#8220;Our level of confidence in efti driving a new standard of care for patients with non-small cell lung cancer via our pivotal TACTI-004 trial continues to rise with the strength of the data from INSIGHT-003 and TACTI-002. Across two trials we have now efficacy data from 165 patients with 1L NSCLC who have been treated with efti and KEYTRUDA, either with or without chemotherapy. In multi-national settings, efti has generated consistent and remarkable improvements in response rates. In particular, the interim ORR data in patients with PD-L1 expression below 50% in the ongoing INSIGHT-003 trial, who represent over two-thirds of the 1L NSCLC patient population, is very encouraging.&#8221;
Data from all evaluable patients demonstrates significant improvement of Overall Response Rate (ORR) across all levels of PD-L1 expression compared to historical control from a registrational trial of anti-PD-1 and doublet chemotherapy in non-squamous 1L NSCLC1:

<li>75.0% ORR versus 62.1% ORR in patients with high PD-L1 expression (TPS&nbsp;&gt;50%).</li>
<li>64.0% ORR versus 49.2% ORR in patients with low PD-L1 expression (TPS 1-49%).</li>
<li>54.5% ORR versus 32.3% ORR in patients with negative PD-L1 (TPS &lt;1%).</li>
</ul>
The 60.8% response rate, regardless of PD-L1 expression (TPS 0-100%), represents a substantial improvement compared to the historical control of 48.0%.
The relative outperformance is particularly strong given the registrational trial has four times as many patients with high PD-L1 expression (~32% of patients versus ~8% in INSIGHT-003), who have the highest response rates.
In patients with TPS &lt;50% (N=47), who have a high unmet need and represent over two-thirds of the 1L NSCLC patient population, the triple combination with efti achieved a 59.6% response rate compared to a historical control of 40.8%.
Safety continues to be favorable for the triple combination in 1L NSCLC with no new safety signals.
Additional data updates from this trial are expected to be presented at a medical conference in 2025 and beyond.
In May, Immutep announced that the median Overall Survival (OS) of 17.6 months had been achieved in Cohort B of the TACTI-003 <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/g45191374/immuteps-efti-in-combination-with-keytruda-pembrolizumab-drives-strong-overall-survival-in-head-an" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">(KEYNOTE-C34) Phase 2b trial</a>.
This part of the Phase 2 study evaluates eftilagimod alfa (efti) in combination with Keytruda as first-line therapy in recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Immutep dosed the first patient in its pivotal TACTI-004 Phase 3 trial in March.
TACTI-004 will evaluate Immutep&#8217;s eftilagimod alfa in combination with Keytruda as first-line treatment for patients with advanced or metastatic <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/03/g44471381/first-patient-dosed-in-immuteps-tacti-004-phase-iii-trial-in-first-line-non-small-cell-lung-cancer" rel="noreferrer noopener">non-small cell lung cancer</a>.

Immutep Reports 61% Response Rate In Lung Cancer Trial With Keytruda-Based Triple Combo

Five weeks ago, markets and businesses were bracing for the worst. Donald Trump's sweeping April 2 tariff announcement sparked panic across equities and credit markets, igniting fears of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/tariffs">a trade-driven recession. </a>
But fast forward to mid-May, and the last traces of that economic pessimism have been wiped out. From credit spreads to the traditional Wall Street&#8217;s stress indicator, the message is clear: Investors are no longer pricing in a U.S. recession.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Tariff-Driven Credit Risk? Gone</h3>
High-yield bond spreads — one of the market&#8217;s most reliable gauges of economic stress — have returned to pre-tariffs levels.
The spread between U.S. high yield corporate bonds and Treasurys has dropped from 4.7 percentage points in early April to just 3.1 percentage points, now below the three-year average of 3.86. This signals investor confidence in even the riskiest borrowers' ability to meet debt obligations.
&#8220;During a huge risk-on advance, US High yield spreads have tightened 152 bps since April 7. With spreads now at 309 bps above Treasuries, credit market investors are back to pricing in a very optimistic outlook with no recession and few defaults,&#8221; Charlie Bilello, chief market strategist at Creative Planning, wrote in a <a href="https://x.com/charliebilello/status/1922746726307311890">post on X.com</a>.
Even in the riskiest corners of the market, sentiment has flipped. 
CCC-rated bonds, which sit just above default status, now trade at an 8.74-point spread, down from an April 7 peak of 11.4, and well below their 3-year average of 9.66.
The BondBloxx CCC-rated USD High Yield Corporate ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XCCC#NYSE">XCCC</a>) has rallied 13% since April 7, marking the best 26-day rise since the fund&#8217;s inception in 2022. 
This reset in credit risk pricing reflects not only a shift in sentiment but also the market's perception that tariff-induced recession risks have been neutralized.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Volatility Vanishes As Wall Street Gets Its Calm Back</h3>
The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) — Wall Street's fear gauge — had spiked to 60 on April 7, a level not seen since the pandemic crash. 
But with the White House&#8217;s 90-day pause on tariffs and tangible diplomatic progress — including a May 12 U.S.-China trade truce and a May 7 U.S.-UK trade agreement — clarity returned, and with it, calm.
On May 15, the VIX hovered around 18 levels, marking a 70% drop from last month&#8217;s peak. 
&#8220;Clarity often breeds comfort, and the removal of worst-case trade war scenarios meant the market could move on from peak fear,&#8221; said in an email Adam Turnquist, chief technical strategist for LPL Financial.
Dominic Wilson, analyst at Goldman Sachs, said the reduction in China-U.S. tariffs has led the bank to raise its U.S. growth forecast and lower recession odds. 
"We see some scope for near-term relief to continue," Wilson said, although he warned about renewed pressure on long-term interest rates and called for downside protection ahead of labor data.
CFTC-regulated betting platform Kalshi now assigns a 40% probability of a U.S. recession this year, down from 70% a month ago — suggesting it's now more likely the economy avoids a downturn.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Markets Enter Phase 2: Communication Services, Tech Lead</h3>
Markets are now transitioning into what Jeff Buchbinder, LPL Financial's chief equity strategist, calls "phase two" — a low-tariff, trade-clarity regime. 
During this period, sectors exposed to global supply chains and discretionary spending are expected to outperform, according to the expert.
Buchbinder said communication services, consumer discretionary, industrials, and technology top his list, with the former seen as the standout.
The communication services sector has the highest percentage of cost of goods sold sourced outside the U.S. among S&amp;P 500 sectors, as LPL noted citing Bloomberg data, making it a prime beneficiary of easing trade tensions. 
The sector also boasts the lowest price-to-earnings ratio, biggest first-quarter earnings upside surprise, and second-best earnings growth among all 11 S&amp;P sectors.
From collapsing volatility to tightening credit spreads and a bullish sector rotation, markets are sending a clear signal: recession fears are in the rearview mirror, at least for now.

What Recession? Markets Have Erased Every Last Bit Of Economic Pessimism

Nkarta Inc.&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NKTX#NASDAQ">NKTX</a>) on Wednesday reported a first-quarter loss of 43 cents per share, beating the consensus loss of 44 cents.
As of March 31, 2025, Nkarta had $351.9 million in cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash, and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/g45419324/nkarta-reports-first-quarter-2025-financial-results-and-corporate-highlights" rel="noreferrer noopener">investments in marketable securities</a>.

In the clinical development of NKX019 for autoimmune diseases, the Ntrust-1 trial of NKX019 for lupus nephritis (LN) expanded to include patients with primary membranous nephropathy (pMN). Ntrust-1 is currently open to enrolling patients with pMN and remains open to enrolling patients with LN.
The Ntrust-2 trial of NKX019 for systemic sclerosis, idiopathic inflammatory myopathy, and anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis continues to enroll patients.
Ntrust-1 and Ntrust-2 protocols were amended to modify lymphodepletion before administration of NKX019 to use a combination of fludarabine and cyclophosphamide, with the option for eligible patients to continue to receive cyclophosphamide alone as modified lymphodepletion.
The investigator-sponsored trial (IST) of NKX019 for myasthenia gravis, led by researchers at the University of California, Irvine, has <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/12/g42334378/nkarta-announces-ind-clearance-of-investigator-sponsored-trial-in-myasthenia-gravis-and-opening-of" rel="noreferrer noopener">opened for enrollment</a>. The IST of NKX019 for systemic lupus erythematosus, led by researchers at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, remains open for enrollment. Preliminary clinical data from the Ntrust-1 and Ntrust-2 clinical trials are planned for the second half of 2025.
Analyst at William Blair said, &#8220;We view the expansion into pMN positively as it is the first cell therapy trial targeting pMN, to our knowledge, suggesting there will be minimal competition for patient enrollment compared to other indications like lupus nephritis.&#8221;
Analyst Sami Corwin is concerned about the changes to the protocol that added Flu to the preconditioning treatment. It&#8217;s unclear whether this decision was partly based on early trial data. &#8220;Without using a reduced lymphodepletion regimen, it&#8217;s becoming harder to see how NKX019 stands out from other CD19 allogeneic cell therapies in the crowded autoimmune disease market,&#8221; adds Corwin.
&#8220;In addition, while we look forward to the initial clinical data from the Ntrust-1 and Ntrust-2 trials in the second half of 2025, it is unclear if enough data will be shared for the data to be meaningful catalysts, and we think investors will have to wait until 2026 to get a more robust dataset,&#8221; the analyst says.

CEO RJ Scaringe emphasized Rivian&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/05/45243985/rivian-holds-firm-on-45k-r2-price-despite-tariff-pressures-ceo-rj-scaringe-says-its-important-for-us-as-ev-maker-tops-q1-estimates">ongoing development</a> of the R2 platform, with validation builds underway and its Illinois facility expansion on track. The R2, expected to launch in the first half of 2026, will enter the market at a starting price of $45,000, a level Rivian is maintaining despite rising tariffs. The company estimates per-unit tariff costs of around $2,000 in 2025.

What To Know: Costco shares are moving higher Thursday, adding to gains of nearly 10% since the start of the year. The stock has almost recovered all of its losses since its last earning report in early March, which included a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/03/44180426/costco-q2-earnings-revenue-beat-eps-miss-comps-up-6-8-driven-by-strength-in-the-us">shortfall on earnings</a>. Management also provided cautious commentary on the earnings call in anticipation of tariffs.
The stock appears to be getting a boost from Walmart Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WMT#NYSE">WMT</a>) earnings on Thursday. Walmart shares initially traded higher on the report, and Costco shares followed. Walmart shares have since pulled back, but Costco shares are holding onto gains. 
On the conference call, Walmart executives noted that February was soft, but demand returned to normal in March and was stronger than expected in April. Walmart also reaffirmed its guidance for full-year 2025, which may be fueling some optimism for Costco&#8217;s upcoming report.
Costco is due to report fiscal third-quarter results in the coming weeks. The company is expected to report earnings of $4.24 per share and revenue of $63.21 billion, according to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a> estimates. 
Costco said last week that net sales in April were up 7% on a year-over-year basis. Net sales since the start of the year were up 8.2%, the membership-based wholesale retailer said. 
JPMorgan reiterated an Overweight rating on Costco last week, highlighting <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/price-target/25/05/45298451/jpmorgan-sees-more-upside-for-costco-as-us-sales-e-commerce-outperform">strong global momentum</a> and a rebound in big-ticket items, which account for about 20% of the retailer&#8217;s core sales.
It&#8217;s worth noting that Costco also showed up on Benzinga&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/25/05/45335286/benzingas-stock-whisper-index-5-stocks-investors-secretly-monitor-but-dont-talk-about-yet-64">&#8220;Stock Whisper&#8221; index</a> last week, suggesting investors are optimistic about the stock with earnings on the horizon.
