WK Kellogg

WK Kellogg is the second-largest cereal manufacturer in North America. Its cereal brands include Special K, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran, Froot Loops, Frosted Mini-Wheats, Kashi, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Apple Jacks, and Bear Naked. The company was spun off from the former Kellogg business, now known as Kellanova, where the former firm's global snacks portfolio and international cereal brands now reside. President Donald Trump&#8217;s sweeping new tariffs, which include 30% duties on EU goods, 35% on Canadian imports, and 50% on products from Brazil, could hit American businesses hard, warns Peter Boockvar, the CIO at Bleakley Financial Group.
What Happened: The proposed levies, set to begin Aug. 1, would apply to an estimated $3.3 trillion in U.S. imports annually, Boockvar said while speaking to Kitco News on Monday.
&#8220;If we're left with a 15% tariff baseline on $3.3 trillion worth of imports, that's about $500 billion in new taxes,&#8221; he says, adding that they essentially undo Trump&#8217;s 2017 tax cuts.

&#8220;You're essentially taking back your own cut in the corporate income tax in 2017, which I was a big fan of,&#8221; Boockvar says, referring to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which reduced the federal corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%, aimed at boosting investment and bringing manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.
Boockvar continues to reiterate his point, saying that &#8220;there are not just trade policies, they&#8217;re taxes,&#8221; that will ripple across supply chains, particularly for companies dependent on foreign inputs.
He also questioned the broader logic of using tariffs as industrial policy, calling it a &#8220;fantasy belief&#8221; that such measures will successfully reshore manufacturing jobs.
Why It Matters: Several experts, economists and analysts have echoed similar concerns over the years, saying that tariffs are a tax paid by American businesses and consumers.
Early this month, soon after a trade deal was <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/politics/25/07/46239985/peter-schiff-warns-americans-will-suffer-and-vietnamese-will-enjoy-after-trumps-trade-deal-with-hanoi">announced with Vietnam</a>, economist Peter Schiff declared that &#8220;Americans are losers and Vietnamese are winners,&#8221; since consumers in the U.S. will now be paying an additional 20% on goods imported from Vietnam, while Vietnamese conumers will have to bear no such costs on imports from the U.S.
Going back to 1987, Republican President <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/03/44269552/ronald-reagan-warned-that-tariffs-destroy-prosperity-trump-is-doubling-them-anyway-and-now-us-tech-giants-like-apple-and-nvidia-are-bracing-for-impact">Ronald Reagan warned</a> that &#8220;High tariffs inevitably lead to retaliation… and less and less competition,&#8221; which would ultimately harm American workers and consumers.

Sen.&nbsp;Elizabeth Warren&nbsp;(D-Mass.)&nbsp;questioned a potential quid pro quo involving the Trump family&#8217;s cryptocurrency ventures and Binance&#8217;s (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/bnb/usd">BNB</a>) convicted ex-CEO Changpeng Zhao.
What Happened: In an X post, Warren cited a recent report that claimed Binance covertly helped President&nbsp;Donald Trump-backed cryptocurrency company World Liberty Financial develop the USD1 stablecoin.
&#8220;One of the Trump family's crypto ventures got behind-the-scenes help from the world's largest crypto exchange,&#8221; Warren said. &#8220;Its founder? A convicted felon now seeking a Trump pardon.&#8221;

The poor performance in the first week was followed by Tesla reporting a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/07/46239998/dan-ives-hails-teslas-better-than-expected-q2-deliveries-says-fireworks-come-early-for-elon-musk-led-ev-giant">better-than-expected Q2</a> delivery performance, with 384,212 units sold in the second quarter of the year, with the Model 3 and the Model Y driving up sales.
Elsewhere, electric vehicle sales <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/07/46408472/electric-vehicle-sales-soar-worldwide-in-june-us-falls-behind-amid-trumps-incentive-rollbacks-report">soared 24% in June</a> throughout the globe. However, President Donald Trump's budget cuts and axing incentives aimed to drive EV adoption led to a slowdown in EV sales in North America.

The Glimpse Group Expects Preliminary Q4 Revenue Of $3.5M, Up By ~100% YoY, Positive Quarterly Adj EBITDA, Cash Balance Of $6.85M

Grvt on Tuesday announced it has launched a new product called "Strategies," described as the world's first compliant, peer-to-peer, on-chain investment marketplace. 
Built on zkSync and governed by smart contracts, the platform allows users to allocate capital directly to investment strategies managed by institutional funds, trading firms, and professional crypto strategists.
The offering aims to address long-standing barriers to investing, such as lack of access, opaque gatekeeping, and high capital requirements, by using blockchain infrastructure to automate fund lifecycle mechanics.
Unlike traditional funds, all strategies on the platform are non-custodial and transparent by design. Deposits, allocations, and profit distribution are executed via smart contracts. 
Historical performance, asset allocations, and methodology are publicly visible on-chain.
According to the company, initial strategy managers include firms like Ampersan, AllDeFi, b-cube.ai, and Rogue Traders. 
The strategies vary from AI-driven quant trading models to thematic portfolios and DeFi-native alpha capture plays. 
Four additional strategies are expected to go live in July, with a total of 15 strategy managers expected by the end of 2025. The company forecasts a total value locked (TVL) of $100 million.
Hong Yea, Co-Founder and CEO of Grvt, said, "We believe growing your wealth should feel as natural as sending a message or booking a ride."
Speaking with Benzinga, Yea acknowledged the evolving regulatory climate, stating: "Feasibility has significantly improved compared to the past few years, as global regulatory frameworks are becoming clearer."

He also pointed to Grvt's dual focus on compliance and decentralization: "Grvt is probably the only platform that combines both regulatory compliance and privacy protections."
Asked about risk mitigation in peer-to-peer models, Yea said, "One of the upcoming features in development at Grvt is a smart contract-based maximum drawdown protection mechanism… When triggered, positions will be unwound and returned to users without any manual intervention."
The firm emphasized that risk disclosure remains central to its architecture. 
"Clear risk disclosure is essential, investors need to understand what they're exposed to," Yea said. "The goal is not just to reduce risk, but to make risk exposure transparent and trustless by design."
On the performance and transparency of algorithmic strategies, Yea said, "Currently, AI primarily helps humans to make more informed and faster decisions." 
He added that Grvt aims to offer "AI-driven funds of funds services," where AI helps allocate capital across a diverse set of strategies.
To mark the launch, Grvt is offering early users a 20% APR booster and bonus EcoPoints toward a future token airdrop, available until July 29. 
A mobile app release is expected in Q4 2025.
The company reiterated its non-custodial model and non-involvement in managing user assets. 
All strategy providers operate independently. "Grvt provides technology solutions and smart contract infrastructure for digital asset management but does not offer financial, investment, or advisory services," the company stated in its official release.

Before leading the Android division, Sameer Samat made a bold move early in his career that would end up shaping his professional journey: cold-emailing Google, rebranded as Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) in 2015, co-founder Sergey Brin at 3 am.
What Happened: Back in 1999, Samat was in his early 20s, running a machine learning startup called Mohomine during the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/25/02/43838071/microsoft-ceo-satya-nadella-warns-of-dot-com-like-ai-bubble-pushes-for-measuring-ai-impact-with-gdp-growth-self-claiming-agi-milestone-is-just-nonsensical-benchmark-hacking">dot-com boom</a>.
When his co-founders considered leaving to attend grad school, he struggled with how to keep the company going. In search of advice, Samat reached out to Brin, having read his academic papers and admired Google's mission.

I'm sure you wrestled with this grad school decision."

To Samat's surprise, Brin replied within a minute and invited him to visit Google's office. What started as a conversation quickly turned into an on-the-spot job interview. He "paraded one engineering person after another into the room," Samat said.
Though Brin offered him a job, Samat declined, choosing to stay loyal to his startup. Brin respected the decision and even introduced him to investors, some of whom helped fund Mohomine.
&#8220;He didn&#8217;t have to do any of that,&#8221; Samat stated, adding, &#8220;And so I try to pay that forward, too, when people call me up with something similar.&#8221;

Samat's company was later acquired by Kofax (now Tungsten Automation), giving Samat valuable startup experience.
He eventually joined Google in 2008 after being persuaded by Marissa Mayer and interviewing with Sundar Pichai, who would later become CEO. He left in 2015, only to return when Pichai personally asked him to help lead Android and Google Play, the report added.
