American Battery Technology Announces $6.75M Sale Of Legacy Property In Fernley, Nevada, To Support Advancements In Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling And Operations At TRIC Facility

As Wall Street crumbles from the impact of tariffs, cracks are still not visible in the U.S. labor market, which continues to show resilience and defies investor <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/econ-s">fears of economic weakness.</a> 
In March, nonfarm payrolls surged by 228,000, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. The outcome is well above the three-month average of 195,000 and topped economists' forecasts of 135,000. February&#8217;s employment growth was downwardly revised to 117,000. 
Private sector payrolls surged by 209,000, the highest since December 2024. Employment rose in health care, social assistance, and transportation and warehousing. Retail trade also saw job gains, partly due to the return of workers following a strike.
Public sector payrolls surprisingly rose by 19,000, slightly quelling fears of DOGE-related layoffs filtering into the data. 
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate unexpectedly inched higher from 4.1% to 4.2%, defying expectations for no change.
Wage growth broadly matched expectations. Average hourly earnings increased 0.3% from February's pace, as predicted, and rose 3.8% year-over-year, marginally lower than the 3.9% predicted.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Market Reactions</h3>
Markets were already in a state of extreme volatility ahead of Friday's jobs report, as tensions escalated between the U.S. and China.
Beijing unveiled a retaliatory 34% tariff on U.S. goods—mirroring the rate announced by President Donald Trump on Wednesday—deepening fears of a full-blown trade war.
Futures tied to the S&amp;P 500—tracked via the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>)—slid 2.5% by 8:35 a.m. ET, following a 4.9% rout the previous day.
Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 2.6%, putting the tech-heavy index on course for its sixth consecutive weekly loss. The VIX – also known as &#8220;market fear gauge&#8221; – was up 34%. 
U.S. Treasury yields tumbled as investors fled to safe-haven assets. The yield on the 10-year note fell 15 basis points to 3.88%, marking its lowest level since late September 2024.
Rate cut bets gained traction. Traders now assign a 40% probability to the Federal Reserve lowering interest rates as soon as May, according to the CME FedWatch Tool. Yet, they see June as the most likely month for the next rate cut, applying a 100% likelihood.
Investors now await remarks from Fed Chair Jerome Powell, who will hit the wires at 11:25 a.m. on Friday.

Levi Strauss &amp; Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LEVI#NYSE">LEVI</a>) will release its first-quarter earnings results after the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/LEVI/earnings">closing bell on Monday, April 7</a>.
Analysts expect the company to report quarterly earnings at 28 cents per share. That&#8217;s up from 26 cents per share in the year-ago period. According to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">data from Benzinga Pro</a>, Levi Strauss projects quarterly revenue at $1.54 billion, compared to $1.56 billion a year earlier.
On Wednesday, Telsey Advisory Group analyst Dana Telsey maintained Levi Strauss with an Outperform rating and maintained a $23 price target.
With the recent buzz around Levi Strauss, some investors may be eyeing potential gains from the company's dividends. Currently, Levi Strauss offers an annual dividend yield of 3.60% and a quarterly dividend of 13 cents per share (52 cents a year).  
So, how can investors exploit its dividend yield to pocket a regular $500 monthly?
To earn $500 per month or $6,000 annually from dividends alone, you would need an investment of approximately $166,623 or around 11,539 shares. For a more modest $100 per month or $1,200 per year, you would need $33,328 or around 2,308 shares.
To calculate: Divide the desired annual income ($6,000 or $1,200) by the dividend ($0.52 in this case). So, $6,000 / $0.52 = 11,539 ($500 per month), and $1,200 / $0.52 = 2,308 shares ($100 per month).
Note that dividend yield can change on a rolling basis, as the dividend payment and the stock price both fluctuate over time.
How that works: The dividend yield is computed by dividing the annual dividend payment by the stock&#8217;s current price.
For example, if a stock pays an annual dividend of $2 and is currently priced at $50, the dividend yield would be 4% ($2/$50). However, if the stock price increases to $60, the dividend yield drops to 3.33% ($2/$60). Conversely, if the stock price falls to $40, the dividend yield rises to 5% ($2/$40).
Similarly, changes in the dividend payment can impact the yield. If a company increases its dividend, the yield will also increase, provided the stock price stays the same. Conversely, if the dividend payment decreases, so will the yield.
LEVI Price Action: Shares of Levi Strauss fell 13.7% to close at $14.44 on Thursday.

On Friday, AerCap Holdings N.V. (AER) announced key first-quarter 2025 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/n44643706/aercap-leased-purchased-and-sold-203-assets-in-the-first-quarter-2025" rel="noreferrer noopener">financial and operational performance updates</a>.
