Iranian cryptocurrency exchange, Nobitex, was hacked for nearly $90 million on Wednesday, with an Israel-linked group claiming responsibility for the cyberattack.
What Happened: A group called Gonjeshke Darande, or "Predatory Sparrow," announced the attack on X, calling Nobitex &#8220;a tool for financing terrorism and violating sanctions.&#8221;
&#8220;In the next 24 hours, we will publish the Nobitex source code and internal information from its internal network. Any assets left there after that will be at risk,&#8221; the group said in an X post in Persian.
This marks the second operation by the hacking group in two days, following their claim of data destruction&nbsp;at Iran's state-owned Bank Sepah&nbsp;on Tuesday, a Reuters report said.

While Israel has never officially acknowledged its association with Gonjeshke Darande, Israeli news outlets such as the Jerusalem Post have <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/iran-news/article-858131">reported</a> the group as &#8220;Israel-linked&#8221;.

Chainlaysis said the exchange is involved in &#8220;illicit&#8221; activities, having wallets affiliated with ransomware operators, and entities&nbsp;tied to militant groups such as <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/23/10/35159368/israel-seizes-hamas-crypto-accounts-with-help-from-binance">Hamas </a>and the Houthis.

Meanwhile, the percentage of Binance traders with long BTC positions fell in the last 24 hours, according to the Long/Short ratio.
The market sentiment returned to "Greed," according to the Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $3.25 trillion, following a dip of 0.22% in the last 24 hours.
Major stock indexes closed in the red on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 44.14 points, or 0.10%, to close at 42,171.66. The S&amp;P 500 lost 0.03% to end at 5,980.87. The tech-focused Nasdaq Composite was the silver lining, edging up 0.13% to close at 19,546.27.
As widely expected, the Fed <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/economic-data/25/06/46004338/no-rate-cuts-yet-fed-flags-slower-growth-sticky-inflation">left the interest rates unchanged</a> at 4.25%-4.50%, while signaling slower growth and hotter inflation. Later in the day, Fed Chair Powell called <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/macro-economic-events/25/06/46006680/powell-holds-line-on-interest-rates-blames-tariff-uncertainty-for-delay-in-cuts">tariffs a significant source of uncertainty</a> but downplayed ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Analyst Notes: In a statement to Benzinga, Arthur Azizov, founder and investor at B2 Ventures, noted "very few positive developments" are currently occurring.
"If no positive sentiment emerges in the near future, Bitcoin could very well retreat into the $90,000-$84,000 range. On the other hand, if a positive backdrop does appear—particularly if the Fed signals a rate cut—then Bitcoin is likely to reach $128,000 by the end of the year," Azizov said.
He said the key levels to watch are $112,000 and $100,500, with no "major" surges or corrections in sight.
Blockchain analytics firm Santiment stated that the Iran-Israel conflict would continue to cause "volatile and unpredictable price action.
"Despite the initial panic, Bitcoin has remained in the $104,000-$105,000 range, aided by consistent ETF inflows and a lack of follow-through in military actions, mirroring the typical &#8216;risk-off, then stabilize&#8217; pattern seen in previous geopolitical crises," Santiment added.

What Happened: Bitcoin nearly hit $109,000 late evening, marking a sharp recovery from the downsides triggered due to the Iran-Israel war.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Investors have been on edge since the beginning of the hostilities between the two regional rivals. However, the<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/06/45952716/stock-market-today-sp500-rises-iran-israel-nasdaq-near-record-highs"> jitters were eased</a> after reports said that Iran wants to de-escalate tensions and return to negotiations.
But the optimism seems to have faded after Trump ordered residents of the Iranian capital, Tehran, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/events/25/06/45964856/trump-asks-everyone-to-immediately-evacuate-tehran-odds-of-us-striking-iran-spike-on-crypto-betting-platform">to immediately evacuate</a>, sending stock futures and cryptocurrencies tumbling. Bitcoin fell below $107,000 on the news.
Ethereum saw a similar trajectory, rising to an intraday high of $2,680.09 only to fall below $2,500.
About $381 million was liquidated from the cryptocurrency market in the last 24 hours, with long liquidations accounting for $204 million.&nbsp;
Bitcoin&#8217;s Open Interest rose 2.91% after days of decline and flat movement. Over 60% of Binance traders with open BTC positions were positioned short, according to the long/short ratio, indicating expectations of further downside.
The "Greed" sentiment strengthened from 61 to 68, according to the Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Dogecoin Extend Rally: 'Hold Above $108,450 We'll Target All-Time Highs'

Digital assets are displaying resilience amid geopolitical volatility, posting $1.9 billion in net inflows for the week ending June 14, according to Coinshares.
This surge brings cumulative year-to-date inflows to $13.2 billion, setting a new annual record for the sector.
"Digital assets remained resilient, attracting inflows alongside gold," the <a href="https://coinshares.com/corp/insights/research-data/fund-flows-16-06-2025/">report </a>stated, noting that Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>) led the surge. 
Bitcoin recorded $1.3 billion in inflows, while Ethereum saw $583 million, marking its strongest weekly inflow since February. 
CoinShares also highlighted Ethereum's inflows have now reached $2 billion year-to-date, equivalent to 14% of its total assets under management (AuM).
The inflow pattern was notably regional. 
The U.S. alone contributed $1.9 billion in weekly inflows, making up the bulk of the week&#8217;s total. Switzerland, Germany and Canada followed with $20.7 million, $39.2 million, and $12.1 million, respectively.
However, Hong Kong and Brazil saw net outflows of $56.8 million and $8.5 million, respectively.

Investor interest also returned to altcoins. 
Ripple&#8216;s (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/xrp/usd">XRP</a>), following three weeks of outflows, saw a rebound with $11.8 million in inflows. 
The (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/">SUI</a>) blockchain platform attracted $3.5 million, adding to a diverse trend of asset accumulation.
Short Bitcoin products, though marginal, also saw $3.7 million in inflows.
Their total assets under management remain low at $96 million, reflecting subdued bearish sentiment.
The data suggests digital asset markets are increasingly decoupled from traditional risk-off behavior. 
"Digital assets defy geopolitical tensions," the report stated, highlighting continued confidence among institutional and retail investors alike.
The rally comes ahead of a pivotal week for macroeconomic signals. 
On Wednesday, markets await the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, a new FOMC dot plot and initial jobless claims, all set to land within hours of each other.
Current futures imply a 97% probability of a rate hold, but investors are watching closely for any shift in tone around potential rate cuts later this year.
Beyond monetary policy, structural shifts are underway in digital payments. 
Retail giants Walmart Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WMT#NYSE">WMT</a>) and Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) are reportedly evaluating proprietary stablecoins pending clarity on the GENIUS Act, a proposed U.S. law that could enable corporations to issue digital dollars directly.
"Should the GENIUS Act pass, crypto's utility narrative, especially around stablecoins, could accelerate dramatically," &nbsp;Stella Zlatareva, Nexo Dispatch editor said in a note to Benzinga.

Trump Media and Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch the Truth Social Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>) ETF, B.T., allocating 75% of its assets to Bitcoin and 25% to Ethereum. 
The <a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/06/16/3099847/0/en/Trump-Media-Files-Registration-Statement-for-Bitcoin-and-Ethereum-ETF.html">filing </a>marks a significant step in the company's expansion into cryptocurrency investment products, aligning with its broader push into financial services through its Truth.Fi platform.
Truth Social, launched in 2022 as a social media platform to counter perceived Big Tech censorship, has grown to 13 million users, emphasizing free expression.

The company also operates Truth+, a streaming service with family-friendly content, and is developing Truth.Fi, a fintech brand focused on "America First" investment vehicles. 
The proposed ETF, sponsored by Yorkville America Digital, will hold Bitcoin and Ether directly, aiming to track their price performance, with Crypto.com serving as the custodian, prime execution agent, and liquidity provider.
"The ETF will hold Bitcoin and Ether directly, with 75% of its assets invested in Bitcoin and 25% in Ether, and offer its shares (the ‘Shares') to investors, aiming to reflect the price performance of Bitcoin and Ether," the company stated in its press release. 
The ETF's shares are set to list on NYSE Arca, pending SEC approval of the S-1 registration and a Form 19b-4 filing, with a decision expected by January 29, 2026, at the latest.
The filing follows Trump Media's recent $2.3 billion Bitcoin treasury <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-media-plunges-13-despite-131347819.html">deal</a>, reflecting its deepening commitment to digital assets. 
"Crypto.com will act as the ETF's exclusive Bitcoin and Ether custodian and prime execution agent, as well as staking and liquidity provider," the press release noted. 
The move comes amid a favorable regulatory shift under SEC Chair Paul Atkins, who has prioritized easing crypto regulations, though the filing includes cautions about risks, including potential regulatory changes under the Trump administration.
Trump Media, majority-owned by President Donald Trump through a trust managed by Donald Trump Jr., has faced scrutiny for potential conflicts of interest. 
The ETF enters a competitive market dominated by BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IBIT#NASDAQ">IBIT</a>), with nearly $70 billion in assets. 
The company emphasized that "the proposed offering will be made only by means of a prospectus" and that shares cannot be sold until the registration statement is effective.

What Happened: Bitcoin crashed below $104,000 overnight, sending the larger cryptocurrency market into collapse.
Ethereum's decline was steeper, as it sank over 9% in the last 24 hours below $2,550. The second-largest cryptocurrency eroded the gains it made after the rally to $2,860. Dogecoin was also down over 4%.
The meltdown comes after Israel launched what it said was a "preemptive strike" against Iran, according to Defense Minister Israel Katz, <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/12/middleeast/israel-iran-strikes-intl-hnk?Date=20250613&amp;Profile=CNN&amp;utm_content=1749774194&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter">reported</a> CNN. Katz said retaliatory strikes on Israel are expected.
Over $1 billion was liquidated from the cryptocurrency market in the last 24 hours, with an overwhelming $947 million in longs getting wiped out.
The derivative markets were spooked. Bitcoin&#8217;s Open Interest dropped 5.69%, while funds locked in Ethereum&#8217;s outstanding contracts declined by more than 13%.&nbsp;
Interestingly, Binance traders were buying Bitcoin's dip, as over 50% of them were positioned short, according to the Long/Short ratio.
The "Greed" sentiment plunged from 71 to 61 over the last 24 hours, according to the Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index.

Analyst Notes: Widely followed cryptocurrency analyst Nebraskangooner warned that if Ethereum fails to hold a critical support level tied to a previous breakout around $2,500, it would likely drop lower.
&#8220;Zoomed out daily look with still plenty of time until tomorrows close but if it fails to hold the previous breakout candle base that would be a pretty nasty upthrust and likely signal lower levels to come,&#8221; the analyst said.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin Bleed After Israel Launches 'Premptive Strike' Against Iran: Analyst Foresees 'Lower Levels' For ETH If It Fails To Hold This Support

Leading Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) advocate Michael Saylor is not too worried about quantum computing&#8217;s potential threat to the network&#8217;s security.
What Happened: During an interview <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBSKfSCfRt0">with</a> Bloomberg that aired Tuesday, the Strategy co-founder was asked about the possibility of quantum computing breaking Bitcoin&#8217;s cryptography.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t&nbsp;worry about it,&#8221; Saylor replied. &#8220;Microsoft and&nbsp;Google market their quantum projects,&nbsp;but they would never sell&nbsp;a quantum computer that cracked&nbsp;cryptography because it would destroy&nbsp;their own companies.&#8221;
Saylor said that while powerful computers may pose a threat to modern cryptography in the next 10-20 years or so, companies like&nbsp;Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>), Google [Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/googl#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>)], and&nbsp;JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JPM#NYSE">JPM</a>) will be more vulnerable.
&#8220;When&nbsp;it is a threat, all&nbsp;of these organizations will upgrade&nbsp;their cryptography protocols to be&nbsp;quantum-resistant,&#8221; he predicted. &#8220;You will see it coming a mile away, and every other digital entity in the world is more vulnerable to that idea or threat than Bitcoin.

Why It Matters:&nbsp;Saylor&#8217;s optimism comes despite growing concerns about the vulnerability of Bitcoin to quantum computing.&nbsp;A study by&nbsp;Google last month suggested&nbsp;that quantum computers could crack RSA encryption, similar to the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/what-is-cryptography" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Elliptic Curve Cryptography algorithm</a> used in securing Bitcoin, 20 times faster than expected.
Concerns over&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42455205/will-googles-new-willow-chip-break-bitcoin-some-dismiss-it-as-fantasy-while-others-flag-risk-that-isnt-immediate" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bitcoin's cryptography</a>&nbsp;have been mounting since the release of Google's next-generation quantum chip, &#8220;Willow," last year. &nbsp;The chip can solve a standard benchmark computation in under five minutes, a task that would take the world&#8217;s fastest supercomputers 10 septillions, or 10^25, years to solve.
While some experts<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42455205/will-googles-new-willow-chip-break-bitcoin-some-dismiss-it-as-fantasy-while-others-flag-risk-that-isnt-immediate" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;ruled out immediate dangers</a>, others advocated for proactive measures to prepare for the threat, such as switching to quantum-resistant algorithms.
A&nbsp;study led by the University of Kent&#8217;s School of Computing&nbsp;estimated that a protocol update to protect Bitcoin from quantum computing threats <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/12/42546731/bitcoin-could-require-over-300-days-of-downtime-to-prepare-it-for-the-quantum-era-shows-study-amid-google-willow-chip-concern">would require taking the cryptocurrency offline for about 76 days</a>, provided 100% of the bandwidth is committed to the process.
Price Action:&nbsp; Interestingly, quantum computing stocks such as Quantum Computing Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QUBT#NASDAQ">QUBT</a>) and <a href="NASDAQ: RGTI">Rigetti Computing Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RGTI#NASDAQ">RGTI</a>)</a> have been on a tear lately.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $3.41 trillion, following a decline of 1.46% in the last 24 hours.
Stocks pulled back on Wednesday. The S&amp;P 500 slipped 0.27% to end at 6,022.24. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite lost 0.50% to close at 19,615.88. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended on the flatline, down 1.1 points to 42,865.77.
The Consumer Price Index <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/economic-data/25/06/45881899/inflation-resumes-climb-in-may-but-tariffs-have-yet-to-hit-consumers">rose 2.4% in May</a>, undercutting the 2.5% projected by economists. The softer numbers boosted expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts later this year. According to the CME FedWatch <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html">tool</a>, traders priced in a 61% chance of a 25 basis point cut during September's FOMC meeting.
In other news, Trump <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/25/06/45882971/wall-street-eyes-record-highs-as-trump-seals-china-deal-soft-inflation-eases-tariff-jitters">declared a new trade agreement</a> with China following two days of negotiations in London.

Memecoins led cryptocurrency market gains Tuesday morning, as Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) regained $110,000 in an overnight surge.
What happened: Dogwifhat popped over 16% to become the most successful cryptocurrency in the last 24 hours. The Solana (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/sol/usd">SOL</a>)-based token's trading volume soared 132% to $588.66 million. The rally helped WIF erase its weekly losses.
The cryptocurrency's Open Interest lifted 18.84% in the last 24 hours, <a href="https://www.coinglass.com/LongShortRatio">according </a>to Coinglass. Additionally, over 62% of Binance derivatives traders with an open WIF position placed bullish bets on the memecoin, according to the Long/Short ratio.
Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index, used to determine if the asset is overbought or oversold, flashed a &#8220;Neutral&#8221; signal for the coin, <a href="https://in.tradingview.com/symbols/WIFUSDT/technicals/">according </a>to TradingView. The Bull Bear Power Indicator also gave a "Neutral" reading.

Fartcoin, another Solana-based memecoin, jumped nearly 15% to become the third-biggest cryptocurrency gainer in the last 24 hours.. Trading volume jumped 73% to $256.5 million, suggesting high liquidity and investor preference.
The frivolously named cryptocurrency registered a 14.86% jump in 24-hour Open Interest, sailing to an all-time high of $721.70 million.
Both WIF and FARTCOIN outgained meme heavyweights, such as Dogecoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/doge/usd">DOGE</a>) and Shiba Inu (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/shib/usd">SHIB</a>) could only gain 5.06% and 4.20%. respectively, over the previous day.

Dogecoin, Shiba Inu Climb But These Emerging Memecoins Are Leading Crypto Gains Tuesday Morning

Economist Peter Schiff&nbsp;remained skeptical about Bitcoin&#8217;s (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) surge past $110,000 Monday, insisting that he will eventually be proven right about the apex cryptocurrency&#8217;s downfall.
What Happened: Schiff took to X to comment on Bitcoin&#8217;s latest rally, asking, &#8220;Bitcoin is back above $110,000,&nbsp;what&#8217;s up with that?&#8221; 
Soon critics swarmed on Schiff&#8217;s post, mocking his Bitcoin skepticism. &#8220;It will soon be above the [market cap] of Gold and there's nothing you can do about it,&#8221; said one user with a pseudonym CRYPTOWARRIOR.
 I don&#8217;t&nbsp;have to do anything about&nbsp;it. It&#8217;s&nbsp;extremely unlikely to ever happen,&nbsp;especially with gold&#8217;s market cap rising. I&#8217;ll eventually be proven right,&#8221; Schiff replied.
