<h3 class="wp-block-heading">S&amp;P 500 Overconcentration Raises Red Flags, Equal Weight ETF Falls Short As Fix</h3>
"Today's S&amp;P 500 concentration is at an all-time high," said Maurits Pot, founder of Tema, in an exclusive interview with Benzinga.
The S&amp;P 500 is increasingly dominated by a handful of tech giants — the so-called Magnificent Seven — which include Microsoft Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NYSE">MSFT</a>), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>), NVIDIA Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>), Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>), Amazon Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>), Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) and Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>). 
These seven companies alone make up nearly 30% of the entire index. The top 10 stocks account for 36%, leaving the rest of the 490 companies with diminishing influence.
In comparison, the equal-weight S&amp;P 500 ETF, such as the Invesco Equal Weight S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RSP#NYSE">RSP</a>) gives each stock the same weight — about 0.2% — which effectively erases large-cap dominance but also deviates significantly from the actual index composition.
"If I go equal weight, I actually have very little exposure to the S&amp;P 500," Pot said. "Fundamentally, it&#8217;s a different product."
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The DSPY Innovation: A Historical Index Weighting</h3>
Tema S&amp;P 500 Historical Weight ETF mirrors the S&amp;P 500 in every way — same companies, same sector exposures, same rebalance frequency — except for one critical difference: how each stock is weighted.
Instead of using the current market cap, the new product assigns each company the average historical weight of its index position (1 through 500) based on 35 years of data since 1989.
For instance, Apple Inc., now the largest stock in the S&amp;P 500 with a nearly 7% weight, is reweighted to about 3.9% — the average weight of the dominant S&amp;P 500 company over the past 35 years.
"What we've built is the S&amp;P 500 with historical weightings," Pot said. "This reduces concentration risk while preserving the index&#8217;s integrity."
Repeat this for all 500 positions, and you get a smoothed-out S&amp;P 500 — one that reflects the index's long-term structure without overexposure to today&#8217;s top tech names.
By using historical weight averages, the ETF maintains the structural DNA of the cap-weighted S&amp;P 500 index while diluting short-term dominance.
Unlike equal-weight ETFs that assign every stock the same arbitrary 0.2% weight, DSPY preserves the natural hierarchy of the S&amp;P 500, offering investors a more reliable and historically grounded representation of the U.S. large-cap market.

What To Know: Lucid shares are trading higher on Tuesday after rising throughout Monday&#8217;s session. The gains come after interim CEO Marc Winteroff highlighted a sharp increase in orders from former Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) owners.
Winteroff reportedly said that 50% of new orders in the past two months have come from ex-Tesla customers. Tesla owners have &#8220;always&#8221; been a source of new customers for Lucid, but more owners have been looking to make a change in recent months, he explained.
Winteroff attributed the surge in demand from former Tesla owners to negative sentiment surrounding Tesla CEO Elon Musk, citing his recent political involvement and growing frustration among Tesla owners. 
Reports indicate that some Tesla property has been vandalized in response to Musk's political ties, adding to concerns about Tesla's brand perception. The shift in customer sentiment appears to be benefiting Lucid.
Lucid shares have been trending higher since the company reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings results at the end of February. The company said it produced 3,386 vehicles and delivered 3,099 in its most recent quarter. Lucid set a production target of approximately 20,000 vehicles for 2025.

Hims & Hers Health Stock Jumped Tuesday Afternoon: What Happened?

MELBOURNE, Australia, April 02, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: TLX, NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLX#NASDAQ">TLX</a>, Telix, the Company) today announces that a first patient has been dosed in the Phase 1 ZOLAR1 trial of TLX300-CDx (89Zr-olaratumab) in patients with advanced, metastatic soft tissue sarcoma (STS) at the Melbourne Theranostic Innovation Centre (MTIC) in Melbourne, Australia.
ZOLAR is a first-in-human, proof-of-concept and biodistribution trial that uses positron emission tomography (PET) to evaluate olaratumab, a monoclonal antibody, as a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical targeting platform. Olaratumab targets platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRα) a cell surface protein often over-expressed in STS.
The aim of the trial is to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, biodistribution and dosimetry, and establish the optimal dose of TLX300-CDx in patients with advanced STS, prior to therapeutic studies, based on a theranostic approach. As part of the study, it is also expected that the patient dosimetry and target expression characteristics will inform the final selection of therapeutic radionuclide for this candidate, in conjunction with currently active non-clinical radiation biology studies.
Telix intends to develop a novel targeted radionuclide therapy, specific for PDGFRα, which could be used to treat patients with STS. Telix holds the exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize radiolabelled forms of olaratumab, which was originally developed by Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly).
Professor Rodney Hicks AM, Founder, Chair, and Chief Medical Officer at MTIC, and Principal ZOLAR Investigator, said, "Sarcomas are individually very rare and they can arise from a variety of different tissues. Unfortunately, they tend to respond rather poorly to chemotherapy. While localized STS generally responds to radiotherapy, it is challenging to treat once it has spread. Targeted radionuclide therapy, which targets cancer cells throughout the body, is therefore an attractive option to treat disseminated disease. Throw in the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/03/44101132/tech-sector-hammered-as-trumps-tariff-plans-spark-market-selloff-nvidia-arm-super-micro-lead-tech-bloodbath">tariffs</a> President Donald Trump announced last month and the pessimism only exacerbates.
Nevertheless, it's also fair to point out that because of the subsequent volatility in PayPal stock — which is down almost 23% on a year-to-date basis — the <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/pypl/key-statistics">valuation</a> looks more attractive. Currently, PayPal shares trade at 2.13-times trailing-12-month (TTM) sales. However, based on analysts' <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/pypl/analysis">projected</a> fiscal 2025 revenue of $33.06 billion, the security is trading at a multiple of 1.98.
It's worth pointing out that currently, the analysts' <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/PYPL/analyst-ratings">rating score</a> for PayPal stock is only 3.1, which is the equivalent of a Hold. However, the latest individual changes were both upgrades issued in December last year. This may indicate a gradual shift in tone.

Stated simply, institutional players appear to be betting that PayPal&#8217;s stock will rise materially above $65. At the same time, they're also collecting income — through the proceeds of the sold puts — assuming that share prices will not materially fall below $64.
Now, one area of concern is in the statistical realm. Using pricing data from January 2019 onward, PayPal only carries a neutral bias. A long position held for any given eight-week period only has a 49.53% chance of being profitable.

By logical deduction, PYPL stock must reach $66.26 at expiration for this transaction to break even. Of course, nobody trades with the intention of walking away with a draw. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume that speculators anticipate that shares will end up higher than the intrinsic breakeven point.
As such, aggressive followers of the smart money may consider the 66/67 bull call spread for the options chain expiring April 11. This transaction involves buying the $66 call (at a time-of-writing ask of $158) and simultaneously selling the $67 call (at a bid of $109). The proceeds from the short call partially offset the debit paid for the long call, resulting in a net cash outlay of $49.
Should the stock hit or exceed the short strike price of $67 at expiration, the maximum reward is the difference between the strike prices (multiplied by 100 shares) minus the cash outlay or $51. This translates to a handsome payout of just over 104%.

Back in a <a href="https://fortune.com/2012/11/21/the-children-of-the-rich-and-famous/">1990 Fortune article</a>, Howard explained one of the more bizarre Buffett family traditions while discussing a 406-acre farm: "Dad owns the land. I pay him a percentage of the gross income as rent. I probably shouldn't tell you this, but the rent is based upon my weight. I'm 5 foot 8, and I weigh around 200 pounds. In a <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/howard-buffett-farming-and-finance-24-06-2012/">2012 CBS News report</a>, Howard was said to be working 1,500 acres solo in Pana, Illinois. The commercial acreage under those two operation totaled 1,906 acres—a mix of land he owns and land he rents from his father.
According to the <a href="https://www.thehowardgbuffettfoundation.org/about/">Howard G. Buffett Foundation</a>, he oversees multiple foundation-operated farms in Arizona, Illinois, and Nebraska. Add in two ranches in Arizona, a ranch and farm in New Mexico, and a farm in Texas, and you've got a man who spends more time in fields than boardrooms.
His mission, though, goes way beyond yield. Howard spends about $50 million a year through his foundation, targeting food insecurity and poverty—particularly in Africa. What started as a passion for conservation evolved into a full-blown fight against hunger, after he realized starving communities can't protect ecosystems if they're just trying to survive. "Many were starving," he wrote in his book "40 Chances.&#8221; "I realized I had to shift my efforts to a more fundamental issue."

Howard didn't exactly cruise into adulthood on a yacht. He <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/12/42496912/warren-buffett-doesnt-believe-college-is-for-everyone-none-of-his-3-kids-finished-if-you-pool-their-credits-you-got-a-degree">dropped out of college</a>, dug basements, drove bulldozers, and worked at See's Candies. A <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/howard-buffett-biography-2011-12">2011 Business Insider article</a> reported he even sold off 600 shares of Berkshire Hathaway stock to launch his first business—a construction company. Eventually, he joined Coca-Cola's board and was tapped to become Berkshire Hathaway's future nonexecutive chairman—not for stock picking, but to safeguard the company's values.

The almost 2-year-old Avalanche Trust was initially intended to offer institutional investors a way to invest in AVAX, the native token of the Avalanche blockchain. By transforming it into an ETF, Grayscale aims to make investments in AVAX more accessible to retail investors while bringing more stringent regulatory protection into mainstream financial markets. If the ETF is <a href="https://listingcenter.nasdaq.com/assets/rulebook/nasdaq/filings/SR-NASDAQ-2025-030.pdf">approved</a>, this would be yet another step in mainstreaming blockchain-based assets.
